"So?" asked the ck-haired man. "What do you think?"
"Alright," Wilbur said after giving it some thought. "Let''s do it. I''ll kill the snow wolves, you''ll sell their pelts. I think I should at least get your name, though."
"Oh, Ipletely forgot to introduce myself! How rude of me. The name''s Saber Farring. What about yours?"
"Wally Yonder."
"Nice to meet you, Wally. I''m counting on you to get those wolfskins for us now."
"Of course. As long as you get the job done, we can keep working together."
Wilbur saw the sun beginning to rise outside and took out the three wolf pelts from earlier before handing them to Saber. "You can have these first, then."
"You said just now that one bronze coin could get you a bottle of wine, right? Please get me one of those, then. I''ll be waiting here."
"Sure, sure. I''ll get those pelts sold off right away."
Saber left happily with the wolf pelts. Wilbur closed his eyes, pretending to meditate. He waited until Saber was gone before walking out of the cave and heading off into the distance.
Wilbur knew that Saber could not be trusted. The guy might have seemed like he wanted to work with Wilbur, but he gave Wilbur judgmental stares the entire time they had been talking as if trying to see if there was anything from Wilbur he could take from.
Thus, Wilbur deduced that Saber would not only return without the wine as he promised but even bring along some assassins with him. The goal was to push Wilbur to his limits, and then force him to hand over his prized possessions to them. Wilbur was not in the best physical state now and could not afford to take on such a fight yet. The best thing he could do was run away.
The entire area was covered with a thickyer of snow and even the mountains appearedpletely white. There were bound to be some caves Wilbur could hide in, and the conversation with Saber from the night before had given him a clearer picture of where he stood.
Buck Town was a bloodthirsty ce. Wilbur was still too weak now and did note from one of the Eight Great Families. He stood a huge risk of getting killed even if he managed to get into town, and thus knew that his utmost priority was to rest until his body had gotten used to the energy aura here.
He could make his decision on whether or not he wanted to enter the town, and if so when, after he could cultivate.
The snow buried Wilbur''s footprints, and he managed to find a cave deep in the mountains before Saber came back. Wilbur blocked the entrance of the cave with snow and got to meditating, trying to absorb the energy aura and then release it.
This time, Wilbur spent an entire month slowly adjusting his body to the energy aura of the middle dimensions. He could finally absorb it freely after that but was still restricted when it came to casting spells. He could not cast spells that would use up too much energy aura or it would lead to severe bacsh all the same.
Despite only eating onerge meal every few days throughout the month, all the meat from the three snow wolves was still polished off by the end of it. Wilbur could not focus on cultivating without any food to nourish him, so he had no choice but to leave the cave to go hunting.
It was snowing fiercely outside, and Wilbur looked around from the entrance of the cave. Not much had changed since a month ago. He stretched his arms, then blocked up the entrance of the cave with snow again before heading out to hunt for food.
