Perry put a hand on Wilbur''s shoulder. "We can''t help you anymore now, Wilbur. You''re on your own now. We hope you''ll be able to finish this mission."


    "What? By myself? Is that even going to work?"


    "That''s the only way."


    "Well, what happens if I can''t stop the Shadow King? What then?" Wilbur was less than confident in himself and wanted to know what would happen if the mission were to fail.


    Bernard said, "Well, you won''t know where the eighth dragon cauldron is. You''d have to wait another decade to get it again."


    "What? Ten years?"


    Missing a chance like this would be a ten-year wait? Just then, Perry said, "On top of that, if you can''t stop the Shadow King, all of Rostead will go down as well. That''s the only time our Master wille out to stop the Shadow King."


    "What? Is Senior Fremont seriously going to just watch all of Rostead go down?"


    "We don''t have a say in that. Master has his own reasons for his decisions, and we''ve never dared to ask too much. I would advise you to know your own strength, Wilbur. If you think you can beat the Shadow King, go and kill him for Rostead."


    "Of course, if you''re not cut out for that, I''d advise against going to look for him. Passing on the mission isn''t that bad of a choice for you, either."


    Rostead might be a small nation, but it had a poption of millions. Wilbur could not stand and watch all these people die because he had chosen not to help. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. "Fine. I''ll f*cking look for him right now."


    "You won''t be any match for him. This version of him in this world is just a clone. I hope you won''t go soft when you see him."


    Perry, Bernard, and the others smiled as they watched Wilbur turn to leave. Indeed, their words to Wilbur just now had just been a test. If Wilbur had chosen to pass on saving hundreds of people, he would have truly lost the chance to learn about the dragon n''s secret.


    Wilbur came out of the hotel, and it was not long before he found out where the Shadow King was. He went all the way and found the Shadow King in the middle of a battle against a bearded elite.


    "Shadow King!"


    The Shadow King turned around and nced at Wilbur. "You bastard, you chased after me!"


    Just then, the bearded cultivator saw that the Shadow King was distracted and charged at him before swinging his sword over mercilessly. The sword struck the Shadow King on his left shoulder, which grabbed onto the sword in and held it there.


    The bearded cultivator widened his eyes, and the Shadow King grabbed him by the wrist. "My turn."


    The Shadow King turned into a puddle of viscous ck liquid as the cultivator''s body began to shrink, finally melting into the puddle. Following that, the liquid took shape once more as the Shadow King looked at Wilbur. "Come at me if you dare!"


    Upon saying the words, the Shadow King turned into a pale wisp as he charged once more. The bearded cultivator''s servant saw this happen and screamed in terror.


    Wilbur could not afford to check on the servant and chased after the Shadow King right away.
