Wilbur let Ralph into his car and drove to Greensource Corp. Barney called right after they had parked.
"Have you brought him?"
"I have. We''ve just arrived. Just give me a minute."
"Alright. I''ll be waiting."
The call ended, and Wilbur took the elevator up to the balcony with Ralph.
Ralph''s expression was icy. "I''m here now, Barney. Just say whatever you want to."
Barney smirked coldly. "I didn''t think you would''ve stooped this low, Mister Ralph. We used to be powerful colleagues, but now we''re at Wilbur Penn''s mercy."
Ralph shouted, "That''s enough, Barney! Stop bringing up the past and just tell me what you want from me!"
Barney lit himself a cigarette. "There''s something you know I care about deeply, and I''d like an answer from you."
"It''s been ten years, and you still haven''t let it go yet!" Ralph eximed.
Barney shrugged. "There are some things you''ll never be able to let go of. You should know that better than me, Mister Ralph."
Ralph said, "I''m not the man I used to be, Barney. I wouldn''t dwell on the past too much if I were you. The answer you''re after might not be what you think it is. In fact, it might be much, much worse than you imagine."
"What are you trying to say?" Barney frowned at Ralph. "Hang on!"
Wilbur scrambled to stop the conversation. "I''ve brought Ralph to you, Mister Barney. Where''s Demetra? Shouldn''t you let him go, as per our agreement?"
"Oh, of course."
Barney''s eyes were bloodshot as he snapped his fingers, and Demetra was brought out with his hands tied to his back.
"Mister Penn," said Demetra.
Wilbur undid the ties on Demetra''s wrists. "You''re fine. I''m here to save you, and we''ll head back together."
Demetra nodded.
Just then, Ralph looked pointedly at Barney. "Mister Penn, could you two please step out for a moment? I''d like to have a word with Mister Barney here."
"Of course."
Wilbur headed out of the balcony with Demetra, who could not help but look back in confusion every now and then. "What''s going on there? Did something happen between them?"
The two men reached the stairwell, and Wilbur briefly told Demetra about what happened. Demetra''s eyes widened in shock before his expressions twisted and David said, "Mister Penn, would we be considered good friends?"
"Of course."
"Well, could you give me that purple potion? I really need it."
"Yes."
Wilbur gave the tube of purple potion to David, just as a gunshot rang out from the balcony. Wilbur rushed up to see Barney copsed on the ground. There was blood pooled around his head, and he had a gun in his hand.
"Barney! What..."
Wilbur stared before him in disbelief. "What''s going on here, Ralph? Why did Barney kill himself?"
