"To tell you the truth, I was near the Lantech Buildingst night," said Kyra. "I witnessed the fire, and that ck aura amidst the sea of mes had to be Demetra."
"Him?"
Wilbur was a little confused. Didn''t Demetra work for Greensource Corp? He had been defeated in the battle against Wilbur, and Greensource Corp was bound to have Demetra killed for failing a mission.
It was only natural for Demetra to n his escape.
Lantech Building housed the core of Greensource Corp''s scientific research, which meant that the ce had to have the strictest security. Demetra was being hunted down by Greensource Corp, but he still showed up on their property instead of running away.
Wilbur found the entire ordeal rather hard to believe. Was Kyra telling the truth?
Kyra piped up then. "I know the whole thing sounds a little ridiculous, and I know you''re in the middle of investigating Greensource Corp. You might not believe me, but that''s all the information I can give you. I''m calling you from a temporary number that will be destroyed after I hang up. You helped me once before, and this is the extent to which I can help you. I hope you can handle the rest on your own. Goodbye."
The call ended after that.
Wilbur stared at his phone, falling silent. Tina spoke up then. "What''s the matter, darling?"
"That was Kyra. She said that Demetra was the one who started the fire at the Lantech building. Are you still in touch with her?"
"Yes, I am." Tina did not hesitate in the slightest when she answered the question. "Kyra''s my master, but she''s been under Greensource Corp''s supervision ever since what happened to Mondorra. That''s why she hasn''t asked much about this"
"I see." Wilbur heaved a sigh of relief. He had misunderstood Tina, but now felt something new for her.
After Tina left the attic, Wilbur called Beverly Torres, his personal handler at the Department of Paranormal Research and Defense.
Wilbur was going to see if the department might be able to find out who started the fire at the Lantech Building.
"Hello, Deacon Penn. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"Hi, Beverly. A fire broke out at the Lantech Building in Cametrast night, could you help me find out who started it?"
"Of course. Give me a moment."
A whileter, Beverly''s voice rang through the phone once more. "I''m so sorry, Deacon Penn. The only information we could find on the fire was that it was an ident caused by a technician named Sam. He was smoking a cigarette and did not put it out properly, which caused the fire."
"Oh, alright. Could you give me any information on a man named Demetra? He''s one of Greensource Corp''s assassins," said Wilbur.
"Sure, give me a moment."
A minute passed by, and Beverly said, "I''m so sorry, Deacon Penn. We don''t have any information on this Demetra person. Also, our information shows that Greensource Corp is a legally registeredpany with no suspicious activity."
Wilbur was at a loss for words, but he understood their intentions eventually. After all, Greensource Corp was an immensely powerful force in Cametra that could probably wipe out any information they wanted at the snap of their fingers.
Wilbur hung up the call feeling slightly amused. What point would there be in himing to Cametra if the department could just figure it all out? It seemed like this was a case that was out of the department''s hands now.
