"Is it true that Rabbick recently passed through Fenler with two youngdies? One of them is a Cametran with blonde hair and blue eyes, and the other has Eastern features. They should look like these two women."
Wilbur pointed at Monica and Betty as they spoke. After all, Lacey and Eliana did look rather simr to their mothers.
"Uhh... I don''t think so. Rabbick is indeed a pervert who brings pretty girls to headquarters for his own pleasure all the time, but he''s not really in Mister Mondorra''s right-hand man, Mister Erin''s, good books. Mister Derkley, though, is pretty much best friends with Erin. So even if Rabbick did kidnap the girls you mentioned, he wouldn''t stay on Mister Derkley''s territory for long or we''d have leverage on him!"
Peele gave it some thought before he answered Wilbur in a respectful tone as if Wilbur was Peele''s actual boss.
Despite not getting any news on Lacey and Eliana, Wilbur was able to tell that there was more to the story regarding Mondorra''s rule!
There were cracks in their system, which could only be good news for Wilbur.
"That''s a satisfying enough answer. You can leave with these idiots! Let me get back to eating in peace, or I might just kill a few of your men out of an upset appetite!" Wilbur nodded in satisfaction towards Peele.
"Thank you, sir! Guys, let''s go..."
Peele bowed deeply to Wilbur, before scrambling out of the diner with his men as they drove off at top speed without wasting a single second.
"Who''s that, Boss? I think he might be even more powerful than Mister Mondorra''s two right-hand men. No wonder Mister Mondorra treated the case with such urgency. Should we still send people out to follow him, though?" One of Peele''s more trusted men asked shakily, still scared from what just happened.
Peele was just as scared despite how calm he had been in front of Wilbur just
now.
Only Peele knew how being stared down by that guy felt like a demon was beholding him, making his breathing grow short as he trembled.
"It''s not about that anymore. We can''t afford to mess with someone like that. If Rabbick''s really kidnapped the girls he was looking for, there might be a storming for Elberta. We need to report to Mister Derkley as soon as possible if we want a chance at turning things around!" Peele said as he thought of the glint in Wilbur''s eyes.
Over at the diner next to the gas station.
Tammy watched as Peele scrambled to leave without even bidding farewell to her and grew even more curious and surprised with Wilbur.
After all, the only person Tammy knew who could freak Peele out like that so far was Erin!
Besides, Peele would only look nothing but respectful and envious of Erin. There was never fear.
Tammy set her unfinishedtte on the counter and sat down across from Wilbur with a stern expression. "Who are you, really?"
The two officers with Tammy now viewed Wilbur as an incredibly dangerous person. They stood on either side of Tammy, one hand on the pistol at their waists.
