    Hearing that, Wilbur pushed the door open and walked to Steven''s desk, intending to take leave to investigate the victims of Andika.


    "What''s wrong? Do you need me for something?" Steven asked with a displeased expression when he saw Wilbur.


    Steven had actually been unwilling to let Wilbur enter their department. However, with the support of Yance, Dean Horford, and Pendleton, he had been forced to do it regardless of how he felt.


    Seeing the annoyance on Steven''s face, Wilbur ignored it as he said, "Sir! I would like to take a leave of absence. I have urgent matters to attend to today."


    Take leave? Steven''s expression got uglier when he heard that. He mmed his hand on the table angrily and shouted, "Shay, don''t even think you can do whatever you want just because you have support! Is this how you''re supposed to act on your first day of work? Do you even want to work here? I call the shots in this department. If you don''t want to work, you can go ask for a transfer out of the department right now!"


    Hearing Steven''s roar, Wilbur seemedpletely indifferent. Instead, the others in the department started to look at him differently, feeling like Wilbur really was someone special!


    On his first day of reporting to work, he got into trouble with the son of the head of the Economic Development Zone office and was taken away.


    Then, on his first official day of work, he wanted to take leave. It had to be said that such bold moves were unprecedented in their hospital.


    "Sir, are there any rules that say that I can''t take leave on my first day of work? If you want to wield your power to oppress others, I can always go talk to Doctor Hoover and Dean Horford.     Hearing Wilbur''s piercing words, Steven dared not say anything more even if he was gritting his teeth in anger.


    After all, if Wilbur really brought up something so trivial to Pendleton, then he would not be able to handle it as just a department head.


    Just as Steven was feeling conflicted, Yance happened to be going through his rounds and entered, saying, "Doctor Hanes, just give Doctor Keller a leave slip. It''s fine if he wants to take leave in the first ce. There''s enough staff in the department right now. He''ll be able to concentrate better after he finishes his business, right?"


    Steven red at Wilbur helplessly after Yance''s words. Then, he reluctantly approved Wilbur''s leave.


    "Thank you, Doctor Hoover!"


    After getting his leave, Wilbur left amidst the admiring gazes of the crowd.


    After leaving the hospital, Wilbur directly hailed a taxi and headed to the outskirts of the Economic Development Zone.


    Because ording to the information provided by Elsa, in the earlier incident involving the Andika drug, there was a family of victims, and the number of victims reached six, making it one of the cases with the highest number of victims'' rtives involved!


    Wilbur''s task that day was to find this family and record video evidence. As long as he could persuade them toe forward as witnesses, this matter would be easy to handle!
