It was only when he reached the bottom of the hills that he realized the fog here was even thicker than what he saw from the top of the mountain.
Even with Wilbur''s vision, he could hardly see beyond ten meters ahead of him.
After scoping out the perimeter around him, Wilbur headed into the hills.
At the same time, three tall figures stood deep in the hills.
They were all d in gray explorer clothes.
An old man, a middle-aged man, and a sultry-looking woman.
All three of them were d in simr clothing that made them look like they were part of a team.
The old man had an ancientpass in his hand, alight with symbols as the needle vibrated greatly while pointing at the foot of a mountain not too far away.
He opened his mouth. "It should be here. Be careful, everyone."
"You worry too much, Uncle Sam. How many times have we done this already?" the middle-aged man said haughtily.
"Exactly. You''re at the Sanctuary level, and we''re both peak Ambience level. What can''t we handle, honestly?" the sultry woman replied with a smile.
Sam looked at the two of them. "Benson, Kelsey, you must never let your guard down. I''ve lived this long because I''ve been cautious all this time. Your pride will be your downfall."
Benson and Kelsey smiled at the words, clearly not paying much mind to them at all.
The old man shook his head, walking up to them. "They let me take you with me, so I need to make sure you get out of here safely. Stay on high alert. We''re in Dashan territory and we need to settle this quickly."
"So what if we''re in Dasha? As if we would be scared of them," the middle-aged man, Benson snorted in response.
The sultry woman, Kelsey chuckled as well. "We''re in the middle of nowhere. Who''s going to even know we''re here? You really do worry too much, Uncle Sam."
"My wariness is the result of blood, sweat, and tears."
Sam came up to the foot of the mountain, ncing at thepass before putting it away and inspecting the cliff before him.
Benson and Kelsey said nothing more.
The next second, Sam put his palm on the ground as a tremendous amount of spiritual energy surged out.
The ground lit up with a formation ofplicated symbols, stretching out all the way to the foot of the mountain in front of him.
Following that, the rock at the foot of the mountain crumbled to expose a gigantic door made of stone.
"There it is. I hope this won''t be a disappointment." Benson lit up with excitement.
Kelsey was rubbing her hands together with glee as well. "If we return with good news, surely the organization''s reward would be enough to boost me to the Sanctuary level, right?"
Sam peered at the door before him. "Anything''s possible. Including death."
"Stop being so scared and open the damn door, Uncle Sam. I can''t wait anymore," said Benson excitedly.
Sam walked towards the door, putting his hand on it.
All of a sudden, a voice rang through the air. "You three don''t look like you''re from Dasha."
The three of them got a shock, turning around in unison to see Wilbur grinning at them.
"Who are you, and why are you here?" Benson shouted at once.
Wilbur smiled. "What a strange question. I''m in my own country. Shouldn''t I be asking you that question instead?"
"Get out of here if you don''t want to die, or you''ll regret it," Kelsey threatened.
