Wilbur heard it not long after he had left, and said to the driver at once, "Turn back. Now."
The driver scrambled to do as told.
Pembroke, Mikael, Esha, and the others were shocked as well, staring at the foot of the mountain in a panic.
A series of animalistic howls sounded through the air after that. A huge ck bear emitting a ck glow all over charged into everyone''s line of sight.
The bear was the size of a bull, radiating a strong murderous intent.
Pembroke and the others felt their chests lurch before the bear even reached them.
"Retreat! Special forces, open fire!"
Mikael retreated with Esha and the others in tow at once despite the fact that all of them were armed and knew how to fight.
Theirbat skills were only useful against regr humans, and their weapons were just pistols that would hardly be enough to take this beast down.
The special forces agents had been trained to take down the most violent beings and were much more powerfulpared to them.
Despite the fear lurching in their chests, the officers loaded their weapons and attacked.
The air filled with the whistling sound of bullets.
Yet the ck bear seemedpletely devoid of fear, uncaring as it continued to charge. The bullets bounced off its thick hide and werepletely useless in stopping it.
Pembroke widened his eyes in terror, as the officers went pale in the face as well. This was not an animal! It was a spirit beast, which was immune to bullets.
Mikael looked terrified, and Esha was white as a sheet.
She had seen many a gory scene but never knew these creatures actually existed.
The bear charged into the team of officers, sending one of them flying into the air as his body broke and blood sprayed in the air.
The bear tore through the officers, wing left and right. Several more officers were killed as well, and the bullets in their weapons werepletely useless.
Pembroke called for everyone to retreat at once, but the bear was clearly much faster than the officers as more of them fell to the ground by the second.
Esha was scared speechless, frozen to the ground as she stared on in a daze She would have been killed if it had not been for Mikael dragging her to run.
The number of casualties was growing by the second, and it seemed like there were going to be no survivors.
All of a sudden, an enraged shout rang through the air. "How dare you!"
A figure pounced on the bear, his fists aze with brilliantly colored spiritual
mes as a terrifying aura rolled off him in waves.
The figure raised a fist, casting a blow toward the bear''s head.
Everyone stared at the godlike man in the air in a daze.
His courage was truly mind-blowing.
The bear let out a howl at the sight of an attacker, its paws lighting up with spiritual mes as it swiped at the man.
Yet the man turned around at an impossible angle, ducking out of the bear''s grip perfectly beforending the blow on its head.
A deafening sound rang through the air as the bear let out a howl of agony, falling from the air and crashing onto the ground.
The mannded atst, and the crowd was able to see that it was Wilbur.
Wilbur stood in front of the barely alive bear, seemingly deep in thought.
