Wilbur let out a cough. "I''m sorry, I was held up with some stuff. Give me a moment. I''ll pick you up and we''ll see Faye together."
"Forget it! I''ve seen through your lying ass! I made this call to tell you that you can forget about trying to lie to me." Sarah hung up the call right after.
Wilbur shook his head, getting into his car and driving off to Sarah''s hotel at once.
He arrived at Sarah''s room not long after, knocking on the door and entering.
Sarah red at him coldly. "How dare you still show up? I should be calling the cops on you!"
"I swear I was held up with something. Faye''s waiting for us. Come on," Wilbur smiled.
Sarah snorted. "You''re still lying? Do you take me for an idiot?"
"Well, you''ll find out once we get there, won''t you? It''s barely fifteen minutes to get to Cape from here," said Wilbur.
Sarah began to hesitate at the words once more. To tell the truth, she still remained a little hopeful in Wilbur. There was no other way out of her situation, after all.
A momentter, Sarah said, "Fine. I''ll trust you just this once."
"I''m not lying to you. Let''s go." Wilbur turned to leave, and Sarah followed after him.
The two of them got into Wilbur''s car, heading to Cape''s headquarters. It had been a while since Wilbur had been here, too.
Upon reaching the main entrance, Wilbur said to the receptionist, "I''ve got an appointment with Madam Yves."
The two receptionists straightened up abruptly at the sight of Wilbur, one of them practically cheering. "You''re here, Mister Penn! Madam Yves has been waiting for you."
Wilbur smiled and turned to head for the elevator.
The receptionists stared after him, whispering to each other looking overwhelmed with emotion.
It was important to note that Wilbur was a legendary figure at Cape International. The fact alone that he was Faye''s boyfriend was enough to make anyone green with envy.
However, this guy hardly even visited Faye despite being his boyfriend. That was something else and had to mean that he was all the more powerful.
Anyone with Faye Yves as a girlfriend would be no less than terrified to lose her, let alone never visit her at work.
Sarah was stunned as well. She had juste here on herst shred of hope, and it seemed like this guy had not lied to her after all.
If that was the case, there might be hope for her.
The thought made her quicken her footsteps, following after Wilbur.
The two of them reached Faye''s office on the top floor not long after. Faye''s secretary scrambled to get up to greet Wilbur, opening the door of the office.
Wilbur and Sarah headed inside. Faye got to her feet, inviting Sarah to sit down with a smile as her secretary served up coffee.
Wilbur, on the other hand, flipped through what seemed like a mountain of files on Faye''s table.
"Don''t overwork yourself, please," he said, looking at Faye.
Faye smiled. "It''s not all that hard. This is your business, after all."
Wilbur smiled. "Well, you should take care of yourself regardless of whose business it is."
Sarah shifted in her seat. She seemed to have heard something pretty big. Cape... belonged to this guy?
Just then, Wilbur sat down next to Sarah. "Do you have any more questions?" "N-No. I haven''t," she said at once.
The nature of their rtionship was clear enough from the conversation between Wilbur and Faye. More than that, Faye seemed to hint at Wilbur being even more than her boyfriend.
