Chapter 22


    "I''m sorry but miss Emilia''s ina." That''s all it took. I left the hospital to my apartment. I felt hungry


    but didn''t feel like eating. I entered the bathroom and stood under the shower with my clothes still on.


    "She''s ina." I said.

    "She''s ina!!!" I yelled out loud and slipped slowly down the shower and sat down crying out my


    heart for the only girl I had ever loved. Emilia Thompson. My first love. I got out of the shower and went


    to bed, curled up like a ball and cried myself to sleep.

    I woke up the next morning after pulling myself together and left to the police station. I met a woman at


    the reception and as she noticed me, she gave me that flirtatious look. Oh god.


    "Good morning Mr. Ryder" sh3 purrs out and I have her a fake smile.


    "Good morning. Please could you show me where the girls that were brought in yesterday are?" I


    asked and she nodded, then winked at me.


    "Follow me " she drawls out and I thank her once more. I turned the doorknob and entered and all


    heads shot up. I looked at Taylor and saw she had been crying all night and looked like she hasn''t been


    eating. She looked so dead. I looked at jasmine and saw she was kind of smiling which was creepy and


    I looked at Ashley and she was smirking.


    "Taylor why did you do it?" I tried to yell but it just came out broken.


    "Scott, I- I didn''t me-mean to do it. I regret doing what I did Scott. I mean she had you, she had ke


    too bu-but no one-no one wanted me. No one loved me. I''m really sorry. I swear I didn''t mean to do it


    Scott. Please forgive me. I''m sorry." She said and then looked like she was about to cry but held it in. I


    immediately felt what she felt but its not Emilia''s fault. Who won''t want yo have her. She was beautiful,


    she was smart, she was everything a man could ever ask for from a woman and that''s why I still love


    her. I still love Emilia Thompson. I looked at Jasmine.


    "Why did you do it Jasmine and your even a drug dealer for chrissakes Jasmine. I loved you like a


    sister. Why, why?" I asked almost on the verge of crying but held it in.


    "Oh,e on Scott, don''t cry, its not like I wanted to do it. I had to do the drugs stuff cause I liked it but


    I had to kill Emilia because I loved you. Everyone thought we were dating so I just decided for it to be


    real and besides I know you don''t actually love that Emilia girl so I know your going toe running


    back soon." She exined and I just shook my head because I was lost for words.


    "Ashley why? I mean she didn''t even do anything to you." I said as I looked at her making her roll her


    eyes.


    "Scott, I didn''t just like Emilia and gosh, she was trying to steal my spotlight. I couldn''t allow her." I just


    shook my head and started walking out.


    "Scott." Taylor called out, her voice breaking.


    "I''m sorry." And without a word, I left. I immediately left to the hospital to check on Beth and Mia. I went


    to the room which Beth was in and saw she was awake.


    "Hi Beth." I said and she turned to look at me giving me a small smile.


    "Hey Scott." She greeted and then I went to sit near her. Her eyes lit up she just remembered


    something. Thank god, she''s taking Mia''sa situation well.


    "Well, Mike just left after asking me out and I said...yes." She said nervously making my heart drop.


    She didn''t know what happened to Mia.


    "Where''s Mia Scott?" She asked.


    "Beth, Mia''s in-"


    "Scott, where''s Mia?" She asked slowly.


    "Beth, Mia''s in. Beth, she''s ina." I whispered thest part and raised my head up to see her


    reaction. She was quiet. Her mouth was slightly open. She was frozen. No word. No emotion. Just


    frozen.


    "Be-"


    "How? How did it happen?" She asked.


    "I don''t know. I think she went into cardiac arrest." I exined and she was quiet. I carried her to see


    Mia and so she cried her heart out reminding Mia that she had toe back for her. Add had to stay


    alive for her. I couldn''t discharge her till tomorrow and so I went hometer in the night and cried myself
