Chapter 14 Promotion


    Allison finally managed to make it to thepany at thest minute of working time and registered


    herself through the fingerprinting system. She had at least made sure she would get the two hundred


    yuan, the full attendance bonus this month.


    She lied down on her desk and puffed softly. She initially thought she would be seen, yet who knew


    Alexander always had his own private passage with no one around at all. Because of this, she could be


    worry-free to board his car in the future and she was quite excited about it. As she was feeling pleased


    for her luck, the department meetingmenced. She carried herptop and quickly found herself a


    ce at the corner of the meeting room.


    The administrative department of the Parker Group was veryrge with a total of fifty and more workers


    cooperating with the work from every department. The content of the meeting was all about paying


    attention to daily appearance and manner, working time, staying punctual and do not leave early as


    usual, which made people slightly sleepy. Yet it was at this time, Irene, the supervisor of the


    administrative department, suddenly called out Allison’s name.


    Everyone became energetic once more and all of them looked towards Allison. Allison was in a daze


    yet she could not help but stand up obediently. “From now on, Allison Gibson would be promoted to


    administrative assistant.” Irene pped after she finished her words. Although everyone was baffled,


    they also pped ordingly. The meeting was then dismissed.


    Allison who was the one involved was in a state of confusion. She then quickly followed Irene and


    asked, “Irene, what’s going on? Did, did I get promoted?” Irene glimpsed at her and replied with an


    expressionless face. “I only received the notification from the human resource department this morning.


    As for why, I don’t know either.” She walked away after she finished.


    Allison instantly became a hot topic for discussion in the department. The Parker Group had a set of


    strict rules regarding promotion. Interns must fulfill three months of internship and pass both the exams


    and interviews in order to be formal workers in the Parker Group. Whilst ordinary workers who


    wanted to be promoted to assistant must fulfill three years of work and get tested by the supervisor


    before they could get promoted. Allison had only worked for two years therefore she was not eligible in


    terms of working time. Therefore her promotion was greatly questioned by her colleagues.


    “How on earth could Allison Parker get promoted to assistant? Oh yes, I remember this year is exactly


    your third year working here. The supervisor used to be nice to you. No matter what, you should be the


    one bing the assistant.”

    “Who knows where she got that luck!” Criticisms were more than congrattions regarding Allison’s


    promotion in the washing room. Allison who was in one of the toilet cubicles was upset when she heard


    her colleagues’ments towards her. Although she had only been in thepany for two years, she


    was hardworking and serious towards everything in her job, and she used to enhance the bonds


    among her colleagues too. So why did she get isted when she was promoted?


    “Congrattions, Alice!” She returned to her working desk feeling despondent and Renata Waldo


    suddenly jumped out at her while handing her an apple. Renata had just turned twenty and she was a


    young girl who had almost done three months of internship in thepany. She was assigned to


    Allison upon joining thepany to learn from her and Allison had treated her as her younger sister


    during the period.


    Renata was the first to congratte her and that made Allison felt a little better. She smiled at her and


    said, “Thank you, Renata.” She then took the apple from Greta’s hand. Due to the promotion this time,


    she had to hand her previous work over to Renata. Renata followed behind her and carefully listened to


    the transition process she said. Her eyes suddenly fell onto the ring on her finger.


    Renata’s eyes instantly gleamed and she eximed. “The ring you’re wearing looks really nice, Alice!”


    Although the ring was not lodged with any diamond, its design and streamline were fascinating.


    Hearing her words, Allison’s hand froze in the air and her eyes fell onto the ring too. Looking at the ring,


    she could not help but remember the scene which Alexander put the ring on her finger for her. Although


    it was not at any romantic spots, being handsome itself was already a romance. Having thought of that,


    Allison blushed.


    “Alice, this, could you let me wear this for a while?” Renata’s eyes were fixed on the ring on Allison’s


    finger and she asked sincerely. Allison did not expect her to request that. Meeting her envious look, she


    was slightly troubled. Alexander had mentioned that no matter when and where, she must not take off


    the ring. After hesitating for a while, Allison then said to her with an apologetic voice, “I’m sorry, this is


    my wedding ring.”


    Renata was slightly shocked when she heard her that. She then quickly said, “Oh, oh, sorry for that. I


    didn’t know about that. It’s my mistake.” Yet a trace of disappointment and dissatisfaction had shed


    across her eyes.
