Chapter 16 Graduation Day


    Kendra was so determined to work and study so hard to finish her college. She also wanted to get


    recognition in the university and let her parents be proud to her somehow. She maintained her grades


    well from the start of her college till up to the end as a Dean''s Lister and her graduation practice came.


    One by one, students name were announced and went up on stage. Kendra''s awaited moment had


    started her name were announced to be awarded as a Cum Laude. All the students from the


    graduation practice pped at her as Kendra walking on the stage...


    " This is it! I got this." Kendra excitedly walking on the stage and stood up in front of so many fellow


    students. " Oh my God."Kendra amazingly saw alot of people infront of her pping so loud when she


    stood up infront of the stage and continued walking down the stage.


    " Congrats Kendra! You really surprised us. We were so shocked on this. You are totally amazing." Era


    and fellow ssmates happily said as they continued pping and kissing her on cheeks. "Thank you,


    Thank You." Kendra happily replied as she was totally overwhelmed with her ssmates and fellow


    students. Kendra''s first graduation practice had finished and went home after. "Dad, Mom I have a


    good news for you." Kendra excitedly said." Huh, what that news?" Kendras Dad and Mom wondered.


    "I am awarded as Cum Laude. You better go to my Graduation to take my award. Arent you


    excited?"Kendra joyfully announced it to her parents.


    " Really?, Congrattion! We better tell this news to your uncles and aunties for sure they wille


    here to see you." Kendra''s Mom and Dad happily said. Her parents couldn''t wait to announce it to


    some rtives and friends. "I could not ask anything more." Kendra said to herself

    The next morning, the second day of her graduation practice hade. The second practice had


    almost over but Kendra''s name was not announced to be on stage for the award. Almost all of Kendra''s


    ssmates wondered especially Kendra." What happened?" Era wondered and asked Kendra."I have


    no idea." Kendra wonderedly replied. The second practice had finished and Kendra approached the


    announcer of the stage. " Hi, may I know the reason why my name has not be announced today for


    Cum Laude award?"Kendra wonderedly asked. The announcer took the paper with the list of name of


    students with award and never saw Kendra''s name on it." Oh, there is no name Kendra rk on the


    list. Are you really sure?" the announcer wonderedly asked. Kendra could not believe on what she saw


    on the list with no name of her." Yes, I am sure about it. My name was announced yesterday as I stood


    up in front of the stage with a Cum Laude Award." Kendra insisted. " Well, I think you should ask your


    dean on this matter." the announcer replied." Kendra could not understand the mistake they made and


    left the ce pissed off. The next morning together with Kendra''s father on the way to dean''s office and


    suddenly, Kendra saw her dean and approached her dean. " Hi, dean I am Kendra rk and i think


    there is a mistake happened because the day before yesterday I was announced to be awarded on the


    stage as Cum Laude but yesterday it didnt announce during the practice time".Kendra asked. "Oh,


    yeah You are Kendra rk, there was no mistake happened yesterday. It was a true announcement. I


    am so sorry for the mistake happened during the first graduation practice as I saw your grades truly a


    Cum Laude Awardee so you were on the list but you had stopped for a year and the university didnt


    allow it. It should be a continious studies with a grade like that for you to be able to get a Cum Laude


    award." Dean''s kept apologizing to Kendra and to her father as he could not do anything of the


    university decision. " Her rtives already knew about the award. Ofcourse it was so embarassed to


    take back what we told them. My daughter''s feeling is definitely broken." Kendra''s Dad madly


    expressing to the dean his feeling and his daughter feeling. " I am really sorry Mr. rk and Kendra, for


    the damage that the university made, I would like you to offer a job Kendra to be working on our


    channel and have a 50,000$ sry yearly.Would that be okay for you?" Dean''s sincerely offered


    Kendra''s job. " No, I wont take it.I studied so hard for me to have this award and this is only what I got


    from all of this."Kendra''s madly left the Dean''s office.


    Kendra''s heart was so broken and never showed up anymore to her university anymore up to the day


    of her Graduation Day. She focused more of her time working and working until she would not


    remember her feeling of embarrassment and pain that day.
