Chapter 56 Why Should She Eat Humble Pie?
Hearing that, Sebastian nced at the embarrassed stylist. Emily was the top fashion stylist here. Each
time Joanna came, she would appoint Emily to style her.
Sebastian didn’t think anything of it, but now found that he was being negligent when Lillian asked for
another stylist. Joanna’s preference might not be to Lillian’s liking.
The stylist panicked. After all, no one had ever reced her with someone else. Now, she would not
only be embarrassed, but also criticized by her boss. As long as her client was dissatisfied, it was her
fault.
It must be because Emily mentioned Joanna on purpose just now that this Miss Spencer was offended.
Now she was reced in front of all her colleagues, and was there anything more insulting than this to
her?
Emily’s attitude softened immediately. "Miss Spencer, I’m all right. I can help you. If you don’t like any of
these styles, I’ve got some more over there. You may try them on, and I’ll help you pick the one that
suits you best." Emily put on a big smile, while her attitude was no longer that arrogant as before.
Finally, she started to treat Lillian as an honored guest.
Sebastian said nothing, but only stared at Lillian, waiting for her answer.
Lillian smiled as ever. "In that case, please do me the favor." Lillian had no intention to make things
difficult for this stylist, but there was a smoldering anger inside her when she thought of those offensive
remarks, as well as the fact that these ignorant people before her actually put her in an awkward
situation deliberately.
There was no need for Lillian to submit to humiliation. A clean hand wanted no washing, and she was
not the other woman at all, so why should she eat humble pie?
Wasn’t everything going on well right now? At least, Lillian was now recognized to be their client by
these people. If she was discontent with their work performance, she had the right to ask for someone
else.
After what had happened, the make-up artist was very polite to Lillian. Even if they were still scornful of
her at heart, it didn’t matter. At least they didn’t dare to be mean to her on the table. Lillian couldn’t care
less how they gossiped about her behind her back. After all, out of sight, out of mind.
Fully dressed and made-up, Lillian was ready, while her phone rang at this moment. She caught a
glimpse of the caller ID, her eyes gleaming.
"I have a phone call." Lillian looked back and said to Sebastian, who was sitting on the sofa waiting for
her. She walked to the corridor outside with the phone.
This styling studio was set in the downtown area, and the wall of the corridor was floor-to-ceiling
window. Watching the bustling streets out of the window gradually being engulfed by the darkness of
the night, Lillian raised the phone to her ear.
"Archibald."
"Lillian, didn’t you want to invite me to dinner? Have you reserved a table? Where is it?" The man’s
clear voice came on the line.
Guilt welled up inside Lillian. "Archibald, well, I’m so sorry. I have something urgent to attend to tonight,
so…"
"So you’re going to stand me up, right?" Archibald’s voice grew cold instantly. He asked with a hint of
self-mockery.
"It’s not like that. Something really came up. I’ll buy you dinner another day, and you may pick whatever
restaurant you’d like to eat at, alright?" Lillian conciliated the young master at once. How dared she
stand him up?
"Well, tell me, what came up?" …that mattered even more to her than their dinner? Clearly, Lillian had
an appointment with him, but now she went back on it. Was he being too easy on her?
"Well, something dide up. Wait for me, and I’ll pay you back with a big meal next time. Goodbye
for now." Lillian hung up the phone immediately, fearing that she would confess if he went on pushing
her.
After she hung up, Lillian let out a sigh of relief and turned around, almost knocking into the man
standing behind her. Shocked, she staggered back and looked up. It turned out to be Sebastian.
"When did you get here?" Patting her chest, Lillian was still scared.
Sebastian wasn’t embarrassed about eavesdropping at all and questioned in a cold voice, "You were
going to have dinner with Archibald tonight?"
Lillian frowned. "Sebastian, it’s not a virtue to eavesdrop."
"What are we? I don’t think I was eavesdropping!" Sebastian said dismissively. The only thing he cared
about was the fact that Lillian had nned to invite Archibald to dinner.
"Why did you invite him to dinner?" There was a trace of anger glinting in his eyes. A man of great
physique, he looked even more overwhelming in front of her.
Lillian didn’t like being questioned by him like this and narrowed her eyes in disdain. It wasn’t like that
she had done anything scandalous.
"Sebastian, I’m already here to celebrate the anniversary with you, so would you stop prying into my
personal life?" Lillian bypassed him, not wanting to quarrel with him. Now that she stood Archibald up,
how dared Sebastian have aint?
Just when Lillian was about to brush past him, Sebastian suddenly grasped her wrist with great force
as if he wanted to snap it, and dragged her outside with a sullen face.
Lillian screamed in pain, "Sebastian, what are you doing?"
Sebastian seemed to have not heard Lillian and kept on pulling her all the way out of the styling studio,
ignoring others’ startled eyes.
The studio staff watched this scene in astonishment. What was happening? Did they have a fight? In
their mind, Sebastian was always distant, and he wouldn’t go so far as to make a scene. They hadn’t
seen him get angry with Joanna before.
This Lillian was indeed not a wise woman. Since she rubbed President Palmer the wrong way so
easily, presumably he didn’t like her that much.
Sebastian simply stuffed Lillian into the car, then got in himself and told the driver to start driving
immediately.
Lillian stroked her wrist, gasping. Fuck, when had he be so rude and unreasonable?
"Sebastian, don’t you think you’ve gone too far?" Lillian red at him.
"You’ve gone too far. I told you to stay away from Archibald, yet you turned a deaf ear to what I said!"
growled Sebastian.
"I also told you not to interfere in my private affairs. Did you forget that?" Lillian roared back without
showing weakness.

"Did I promise you that?" Sebastian scoffed, coldness glinting in his eyes, "Lillian, let me tell you
something. As long as you’re still Mrs. Palmer, you don’t have the right to ask me not to interfere in
your affair!"
Sebastian huffed, and got angry at the thought of the caller ID "Archi" on her phone. And how dared
she invite Archibald to have dinner with her tonight? Had they already moved on to the next phase of
private date?
This slut. If Sebastian didn’t discipline her, she would run away with Archibald! At that time, when the
media reported the news, looked into it and exposed their rtions, as well as the fact that his wife
actually ran away with some other man, how would he live with the shame?
Lillian scowled at him with a frown, not knowing what to say for the time being. How could Sebastian
act so shamelessly? She turned to look outside the window in anger and tried to calm down. She
shouldn’t have argued with him. She should haveughed it off as before.
The more she fought back, the more he would put her down. In fact, these men were all male
chauvinists!
Seeing that she didn’t make a noise, Sebastian cast his gaze upon her slender wrist, which had
be red due to his grasp. His eyes darkening, he turned to watch the passing street scene out of
the window.
"Stop the car," Sebastian blurted.
The driver pulled the car up to the curb in puzzlement. Sebastian got off alone, saying nothing.
Lillian didn’t bother to care about him, but leaned back in the seat with arms across her chest and eyes
closed for rest.
Before long, Sebastian got in the car again and closed the door. Lillian’s eyes remained shut. Suddenly,
her hand was pulled towards him, and she opened her eyes in surprise, only to see a crystal bracelet
encrusted with little diamonds in his hand. He slipped the cold bracelet on her wrist, and it happened to
cover the red mark left by him.
When Sebastian put on the bracelet for her, the red mark could no longer be seen. The diamonds
glittered as she moved her wrist. Sebastian gave a satisfied smile, but still ordered in a stern voice,
"Keep it there, and don’t take it off!"
