    Chapter 1642

    Chapter 1642

As expected, John was still in the living room.

He was on his phone with someone. “I am busy. | won’t be going back soon. If there’s nothing urgent, just go to Peter; only call

    me when it’s absolutely necessary.”

John hung up the phone and saw Sylvia wheeling Madam Carter into the house. His gaze shifted. He immediately wore a polite

and humble smile on his handsome face.

Madam Carter dozed off on the way back.

John said to Sylvia, “Mrs. Carter, Caprice really likes to be with Liam. No matter how | try to take her home, she doesn’t want to

go back. | might have to crash at your ce for a couple of days.”

Caprice, who was also in the living room watching Liam y with his Rubik’s cube, looked up at her father in confusion. She did

not remember her father persuading her to leave. However, it was true that she did not want to leave, she wanted to stay with

    Liam.

Therefore, she turned back to Liam and continued watching him y.

Sylvia scoffed after hearing John’s excuse. She said, “Liam likes Caprice as well, and | am more than wee to have her, but

our ce is too small to house someone as important as you, Master Stockton. Caprice can stay, but you should probably go.”

John chuckled. “I don’t want to interrupt either, but Caprice will break down in tears if | leave her for more than ten minutes. |

don’t have the heart to leave her alone.”

“Caprice and Liam were in the children’s room for more than two hours, and | didn’t see her crying,” Sylvia said.

John’s smile froze for a second before he regained hisposure. He continued, “That’s because | told her | am down here,

waiting for her. She knew | was near.”

Sylvia ran out of patience. She asked, “You just don’t want to go, do you?”

John curled his lips. “It''s Caprice who doesn’t want to leave Liam. | can’t do anything about it.”

Sylvia released an exasperated sigh and was done arguing with the man. She wheeled Madam Carter

    back to her room.

John sighed a breath of relief and sat down on the couch.

Two dayster, which was a weekday, Sylvia sent Liam and Isabel to school in the morning before she came back and went out

for a stroll in the park with Madam Carter and Flint.

Later in the afternoon, she went to her studio to do some work.

She worked in her studio until the evening when she heard her kidse through the front gate. She got

    up and went downstairs.

John and Caprice came back around the same time as well. The father and daughter had gone out for the whole day, and they

came back with a beautiful cap on the girl’s head and several boxes of presents.

The moment the girl got down from her father’s arm, she ran to Liam.

“Liam!” She ran over to Liam and handed him a cool-looking keychain. She adorably said, “Here, this is for you.”

Liam was slightly surprised but epted the present anyway. “Thank you.”

Caprice smiled brightly. “You’re wee.” She also gave Isabel and Flint each a keychain.

Isabel happily stroked the girl’s cheek. Flint hugged her and wanted to kiss her on the cheek, but John pulled the boy back.

Caprice then went up to Sylvia.

Sylvia bent over to the girl who gave her a delicate wooden music box. “Aunt Sylvia, this is for you.” Sylvia took the music box

and replied with a smile, “Thank you, Caprice. | like it a lot.”

Caprice’s smile was as bright as the morning sun. “You''re wee, Aunt Sylvia.”

She then went back to Liam and held the boy’s hand. The kids then went inside the house together.

John went up to Sylvia and asked, “Mrs. Carter, any news today?”

Even after receiving a present from Caprice, Sylvia did not bother to be polite. She said coldly, “No.”This material belongs to N?velDrama.Org.
