Chapter 1573

"Y-Yes." Lexie nodded vigorously, looking up at him. "But what if Mrs. Houston finds out about this?"

She knew why Grover wanted these photos. By the next morning, they would be all over the trending news. Given how devoted Marion was to Debra, there was no way he''d let her see something like that.

"That doesn''t concern you. Just focus on your task," he said.<fn7ea1> Official source is f?i?n?d?n?o?v?e?l?</fn7ea1>

"I''m sorry. I spoke out of turn. It won''t happen again," she said, bowing her head.

Marion stood up from the couch and stepped toward her. Without a word, he snatched the phone from her hand and took a photo.

Lexie''s heart lurched with the click.

An hourter, she stumbled out of the hotel room, disheveled.

The Trennery family''s people had been waiting outside. Grover leaned out of the car window.

    "Sess?" he asked.

She nodded fearfully, but he pressed, "So easy? You sure there''s no trick here?"

Lexie quickly exined, "He was drunk and took my recorder. Then..."

She shyly lowered her head. Grover''s expression shifted.

As a man, he knew what she meant.

Men tended to make drunken mistakes. Even someone like Marion couldn''t resist human nature.

"I wasn''t wrong about you after all." Grover nodded with satisfaction.

Following Marion''s instructions, Lexie said, "But he was too rough. I don''t know if I can go to see him again. If he sobers up and realizes what happened, he might kill me to make it up to Debra."

She clutched her arms, shivering, as if she''d rather disappear than face Marion again.

Grover reassured her, "Debra is nothing to worry about. Since you slept with him, Marion will protect you. Well, once this is over, you''ll have more wealth and power than you could ever dream of."

Lexie forced a smile. Wealth and power? That wasn''t what she was thinking about. She just wanted to live. "Right. Show me the pictures."

    "Okay."

Her hands shook as she handed over her phone. Every photo had been taken per Marion''s instructions. Grover scrolled through them, satisfied. There was no way Debra could stay calm after seeing these things.

As long as he could drive a wedge between her and Marion, his mission would beplete. By morning, the news had already spread across every major online tform.

But when she saw it, Debra only smiled.
