Chapter 1439

    "Debra, actually..." Erica started.

Jordan said, "Andrew left. He said he''s been leading the family long enough. This time, he wanted to leave."

After a brief silence, Debra asked, "Did he say where he was going?"

"No. Maybe somewhere overseas or a small town, living an idyllic life."

    "Anywhere but Seamar City."

    "Right."

Debra understood what was going on. With the dust settling, Andrew could leave with peace of mind.

She just didn''t get why he had left without saying goodbye.

"I have so many things I wanted to ask him," she murmured.

She remembered everything from her dream so vividly, as if it had truly happened.

She wanted to ask Andrew about their past rtionship.

Her eyes dimmed as she looked down at the crest in her hand.

Jordan wanted tofort her, but in the end, he shrugged. "It''s not like you''ll never see him again. He just wants some time alone to rest. Who knows? Maybe he''ll be back soon."

    Debra was a little relieved.

That was right. Though the world was big, they would meet again.

Marion stood up and said to Jordan, "Come with me."

Jordan knew this moment woulde sooner orter, so he silently followed Marion out of the room.

The hallway was quiet, with only the two men facing each other.

Jordan spoke first. "I know what you want to ask. I didn''t kill him."

He pulled a set of safe box keys from his pocket and handed them to Marion. "But Caleb is indeed gone Before he passed, he told me to give this to you. He said he was never one for sentimental words, but he stiff wanted to leave his most valuable possession to you."

Marion took the keys. "How did he go?"

"Seven days after the shooting," Jordan said, guilt in his voice. "He came to Andrew, mentioning his terminal tiver cancer. He said that if he could help the younger generation aplish onest big thing and witness his funeral, he could leave this world without regrets."

He looked up and added, "Keeping this from you was never my intention."

    "I understand," Marion simply replied.

Before getting back into the ward, he added, "Don''t tell Debra. I don''t want her to be sad."

    "Alright," Jordan agreed.

Inside the room, Debra and Erica were chatting.
