Chapter 1307

"Debra." Randy''s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

Realizing everyone was staring at her, Debra blinked. "What?"

In the living room, the group sat in a circle, deep in discussion.

Erica spoke up. "We were talking about the current situation. Why are you zoning out again?"

"Yeah, that''s the seventh or eighth time today," Randy echoed. "Oh, wait, where was I?"

Erica reminded him, "You were talking about how Juan and Jordan have teamed up. They signed a five-year partnership agreement."

"Right. Five years," Randy continued. "If they bring all that chaos and shady behavior from Orkgate to Seamar City, we''re doomed."

Drake shot him a cold re, and Randy chuckled nervously, "Take it easy. I wasn''t talking about you. Everyone knows how messy Orkgate is."

Drake leaned back on the sofa. "I''m not from Orkgate. Say whatever you want."

Even so, Randy toned it down. "Anyway, that''s the situation. The two traitors are getting chummy. I bet they''re both working for that mysterious person behind the scenes. How else would they go against us the moment they gained power?"

"And they had the nerve to kidnap me," Liza chimed in, pouting. "I already told my dad. They''re in for trouble."

Gand tugged at her clothes and whispered, "Given the mess, Dad won''t be much help."

    "Why not?" Liza blinked.

"Our family''s a big deal overseas, but we''ve got no influence in Seamar City."

    Liza was skeptical. "Really?"

Gand sped his hands together. "Yes, just stop mentioning Dad. It will be embarrassing if he can''t help."

Liza pouted. "What should we do then?"

Randy sighed, "What can we do? Andrew''s bedridden, Caleb''s gone, and Marion''s tied up with his new role. Caleb promised to figure out what happened back then. Now that he''s gone, we''ve got no one to ask. Just us lot, trying to uncover the secret behind that gemstone? No chance."

Debra spoke up. "If they''re after the

hidden treasure, then we need toget

    find it

    . That''s the only wave

    turn things around."

The problem was that they didn''t have any leads.

Suddenly, a name shed through Debra''s mind.

    "Edgar Odom," she muttered.

Gand grew uneasy upon hearing the name. Randy, on the other hand, was puzzled.

"Edgar? That guy''s dead, isn''t he?"

"I only left him to his own devices. I don''t know if he''s dead or alive. But Edgar is the only one who knows about the treasure. Otherwise, why would he have nearly sacrificed the entire Odom family for it? Don''t forget, he had been nning his move for years. He must know where the treasure is."
