Nathalie drummed her fingers on the table, lost in thought.


    "Cameron''s been ying a double game with me. He pretended to need a loan, but he''s been plotting against me all along. He''s a real snake, a master of deception. Definitely someone to watch out for."


    Dominick chimed in, "In the Empire Project, it''s not about the money. The client cares more about the tech. Sure, our Stewart Enterprise has deeper pockets than Dawson International, but Cameron''s brought back some of Dawson''s retired pros, and their skills are nothing to scoff at."


    "Our odds of winning this bid aren''t great."


    Nathalie shot up, ring at Dominick. "Think again and tell me who''s got the upper hand in this bid?"


    Dominick, not quite buying it, replied, "We do. We''re the ones who''ll win."


    Nathalie sat back down, rolling her eyes. "I never take on a fight unless I''m sure I can win."


    Dominick and Ford exchanged puzzled looks, wondering where Nathalie got her confidence from.


    "Got any ns to take Cameron down?" Dominick asked.


    "Find me a woman," Nathalie instructed. "Someone who loves white dresses, with long, flowing hair, and an air of innocence."


    Ford frowned. "You think a pretty face will work on Cameron?"


    Nathalie smirked. "Who said anything about looks? I''m going for the ssic damsel-in-distress act. A romantic like him will fall for it hook, line, and sinker."


    Dominick gave her a thumbs-up. "Sounds like a n."


    Ford narrowed his eyes at Dominick. "You''re just saying that because it''d work on you."


    Dominick shrugged. "As if I''m that easy."


    "Aren''t you?"


    Nathalie pped her hands. "Enough with the banter. Go find that damsel."


    Dominick and Ford were off like a shot.


    A weekter, Officer Baldwin showed up with news.

    business as he addressed the team.


    The team had a sinking feeling about the bad news. "Did something happen to the informant?"


    Officer Baldwin nodded.


    A colleague jumped up. "I bet Morris is working with the cartel. How else could he be so spot-on?"


    Officer Baldwin shook his head.


    "Don''t be absurd. Morris is a genius, in and simple. His intelligence is beyond what we can imagine Thanks to him, we caught the big yers."


    "Yeah, Morris has been a huge help. He''s saved our butts twice now."


    Officer Baldwin seized the moment. "Sir, considering Morris''s contributions, shouldn''t we cut him some ck?"


    "Absolutely. Morris deserves a break."


    After the meeting, Officer Baldwin made a beeline for the prison to see Morris.


    "Number 13, you''re up for a reduced sentence soon."


    Morris, sitting in his wheelchair, stared at the crescent moon as the sun set, showing no emotion.


    "Officer Baldwin, did you find out anything about what I asked?”


    Officer Baldwin sighed quietly, recalling his trip to Stewart Estate to dig up info on Nathalie. Just as he got there, he spotted Ashley strolling alongside a striking man.
