Chapter 818

The team leader was fired up as he spoke, "These folks are drug kingpins. Our informant had been keeping a close eye on them. But justst weekend, we lost contact. We''re worried something might''ve happened to him, so we need to figure out how to reach him as soon as possible."

He turned to Morris. "Morris, any chance you can help us get back in touch?"

Morris shook his head. "Can''t do that."

    "What...?"

"I can only help track down his current whereabouts."

    Everyone was taken aback. "What...?"

    What''s the difference?

Morris settled in front of theputer, with Officer Baldwin standing next to him, exining, "This was where they werest seen. Our informant disappeared from here."

Morris''s long, nimble fingers hovered over the keyboard like a magician about to perform a spell. His hands flew across the keys, the screen flickering so rapidly it was hard to keep up.

The room fell silent, everyone holding their breath, eyes glued to the screen.

In reality, they couldn''t make out much.

All they could see was a blurry screen and Morris''s fingers moving like lightning. Then, a dull thud of a fist hitting the keyboard broke the tension.

"The informant is dead," Morris said tly.

Officer Baldwin nced at the map on the screen, dotted with a few red markers. It wasn''t clear to him how Morris had reached that conclusion.

"Without solid proof, you can''t just make statements like that," Officer Baldwin warned him.

Morris pointed at one of the red dots on the map. "Your informant showed up here four days ago and hasn''t budged an inch since. But everyone else has cleared out."

"How''d you figure that out?" someone asked, clearly baffled.

"Thermodynamics, statistics, thew of conservation of energy..."

"Alright, alright, I get it," Officer Baldwin interrupted, holding up a hand to stop him.

Then he instructed a few officers, "You guys, head over there now and search for the informant."

Turning back to Morris, he asked, "Can you tell me where the others have moved?"

Morris zoomed in on the map. "Here they are."

A fierce determination lit up Officer Baldwin''s eyes. "Once I catch these crooks,

they won''t get away easily." With that, he left with a team.

    The mission was particrly tough.

Officer Baldwin had been gone a while.

Morris, without anyone to chat with, felt a bit down.

He often found himself sitting in the prison yard during free time, gazing at the sky, lost in his thoughts.

Nathalie hadn''t visited him in quite some time.

    It was strange.

    Over at the Stewart estate.

Having severed her emotional ties, Nathalie threw herselfpletely into her work.

On this day, Nathalie sat confidently

    Ene

in the CEO''s plush chair, issuing orders to her trusted right-hand people. "Time to settle the score for our family."

Dominick''s eyes widened in surprise. "I thought you''d let that go."

Nathalie gave him a look that said "You''re asking for trouble," then bit her lip and said coolly, "Forget it? No way. The timing just wasn''t right before. Now I believe I''m strong enough to take on the big four families. Got any ideas on how we can drive them to bankruptcy?

    Completely kick them off the

    Capital''s stage?"

Ford chimed in, "Let''s tackle them one at a time."

"Alright, let''s start with the Dawson family. Cameron''s been a thorn in our side for

    too long."

Dominick pondered for a moment. "Boss, hang on a sec."

A little whileter, Dominick returned, clutching the Dawson family''s contract, ready to report. "Boss, Cameron''s done a vanishing act, ditching Dawson International. He''s set up two newpanies topete with us for the Imperial Project."
