While Alyssa smiled sweetly, she was sharp enough to notice that Mandy didn''t look too well. As she stepped into the room, she asked softly, "Mandy, are you feeling unwell?"
Mandy ran her hand over her cold cheeks and let out a bitter chuckle. "Winston is severely ill. I probably don''t look too good because I haven''t been sleeping welltely."
Alyssa was not only perceptive but had also overheard Mandy''s earlier phone conversation through the door.
She''d caught fragments of phrases like "trailing them" and "lost them". Suddenly, it all clicked.
Stepping closer, she whispered, "Mandy, are you worried about Damien?"
Mandy''s eyes widened, though her gaze flickered evasively. "Damien... Of course, I miss him. He''s been through so much. I often dream of him... I see him in my dreams."
Alyssa''s voice turned stern. "Mandy, please tell me the truth. Are you secretly following Remy?"
Mandy froze. "Lyse, how did you "
"I overheard bits of your conversation earlier. I just pieced it together."
Alyssa took Mandy''s hands and held them tightly, her voice filled with concern. "Mandy, have you been sending people to trail Remy all this time? How did you even find him?"
Mandy pressed her lips together and remained silent.
"Mandy, you have to be honest with me!" Alyssa''s face hardened, her eyes clouded with worry. "We don''t even know Remy''s true identity. Even if he is Damien, he''s lost all his memories and is working for the enemy.
"He''s extremely dangerous. You''ve never done this kind of thing before. If he realizes he''s being followed because of your reckless actions, you could be putting yourself in serious danger.
"Winston is gravely ill. We can''t afford for anything else to happen to our family. We absolutely can''t!"
Her eyes reddened as tears threatened to fall.
Between Winston''s hospitalization and the tense negotiations with Justin, Alyssa had been under immense pressure-so much that she felt like she was about to snap.
If anything else happened to her loved ones, she knew she wouldn''t be able to take it. It would drive her to the brink of madness.
She waspletely unaware that Mandy already knew the truth-that Remy was her son, Damien.
Forcing herself to remain calm, Mandy took a deep breath and held back her tears. "Lyse, I''m only searching for the truth so that I can finally be at peace."
She smiled faintly and added, "Even though you describe him like a
monster, I feel a strange sense of familiarity whenever I see him.
Maybe it''s because he looks just like Damien. He doesn''t scare me.
s
Alyssa''s intuition red. "Mandy, did you see Remy again? When?"
Knowing she couldn''t hide it anymore, Mandy confessed, recounting the time she''d run into Remy on the street and saved his life.
Alyssa''s eyes widened in shock. After a moment, she asked, "So, you nted a tracker on him?"
"It''s on his silver ne. I figured it would be too easy to find if I slipped it into his pocket, so I put it there instead."
A glimmer of satisfaction appeared on Mandy''s face. "Luckily, he hasn''t noticed it yet."
Alyssa silently prayed to a higher power, asking Winston to wake up and restrain his wife because she was being far too bold.
"Mandy, since you''ve been tracking him, where is he now?"
"He''s somewhere near Domere Mountain. But I''m not sure if that''s where their base is or if he lives there. The signal around the mountain is unstable, so my people often lose him.
"Every time they get close, they still can''t pinpoint his exact location. It''s been frustrating."
Mandy shook her head helplessly. "That''s why I haven''t been able to find his exact location."
"Alright. Let''s leave it at that for now." Alyssa paused, then fixed Mandy with a serious gaze. "But listen to me, don''t act withoutT permission again. And don''t even think of going after him yourself. s
"This is incredibly dangerous. I''m not exaggerating. Even if Winston recovers, he might not be able to protect you. Do you understand?"
Mandy pursed her lips and gave a slight nod.
After Winston took the medication Justin provided, his brain scans showed signs
of stabilization, though he remained unconscious. Even Abel couldn''t say when he would wake up.
As the Taylor family remained
deeply worried about Winston''s
condition, good news came from the
Beckett Group. The government had
officially approved Project A5,
granting the contract to
ne Beckett
Group.
