Screams.

Raw, piercing, terrified screams tore through the air as people ran for their lives. Bodies stumbled over each other, desperate to escape, desperate not to be next.
The headless corpsey sprawled on the ground, blood pooling beneath it, the metallic scent thick in the air but I didn’t spare it a nce.
My eyes were fixed on the two standing before me.
My preys.
They stared back at me, fear and caution flickering in their eyes, the arrogance from beforepletely wiped away but that was the funny thing about humans.
They feared what they couldn’t understand.
They feared power.
Feared anything stronger than them, anything that could crush them without effort but when it came to someone weaker?
My lips curled slowly, stretching into something wide. Unsettling.
My head tilted, my eyes shing gold for just a second, sharp and unnatural. My teeth lengthened briefly into fangs before slipping back into ce.
They became the very monsters they feared.
“Haha…”
Augh slipped out, then another and another until it rolled out of me, louder, richer. My shoulders shook as I bent slightly, clutching my stomach, ughing like I’d just heard the most amusing thing in the world.
I could feel their gazes.
The Alpha.
Lilith’s friends.
Shock, fear, disbelief but I didn’t stop.
Not until the sound of myughter was the only thing left echoing in the space and when I finally looked up again, George and I had gonepletely still.
Their expressions had changed, like they were staring at something they couldn’tprehend. Something… wrong.
George’s grip on I tightened, pulling her slightly behind him, even as his eyes stayed locked on me.
Myughter died down slowly, my head straightened and then-I smiled.

“Well…” I drawled softly, voice almostzy, almost amused. “I guess I will just y with both of you at the same time”
Before they could react, before they could even breathe, I moved. The world blurred, a flicker in the air and the next second ì was gone.
I was right behind them.
Their bodies locked instantly, going rigid, breaths hitching as if something cold had wrapped around their throats. Slowly… deliberately, I lifted my hands, letting my fingers trail over their shoulders.
Light.
Almost gentle.
I leaned in between them, my face brushing close to theirs, my breath ghosting against their skin as my lips stretched into a slow, wicked smile.
“So…” I murmured, voice low, smooth. “Tell me, do you want me to teach you how to be stronger before you die?” I tilted my head slightly, lips inches from George’s ear as I watched his throat move when he swallowed.
I shifted my gaze to I.
Pale. Shaking. But her eyes- her eyes snapped to her sister’s head, staring at that frozen expression. The moment of death still carved into it like time had stopped mid-scream.
At that moment, something in her snapped.
Not fear.
Something sharper.
Hotter.
Rage.
Raw, burning, ugly rage and for a second… I almost sighed in delight.
There it was, a killing intent so raw it rippled through the air. I tilted my head slightly, my smile stretching wider.
Oh, I loved that look.
That was the best kind because what truly unlocked a person’s potential wasn’t determination.
It was hatred.
The raw urge for vengeance.
I chuckled softly.
I was right because as I’s gaze flicked to George, something passed between them. No words.
Just understanding, a silent agreement. The next second, their eyes darkened and the air changed, like a switch had been flipped.
The carnival that was once loud, and chaotic had gone dead silent. Empty stalls. Overturned chairs. Swung gates creaking softly in the wind like even the world was holding its breath and then, everything changed..

Ivy’s eyes changed first.
Green to red.
A violent shift, like something had cracked open inside her.

Her aura exploded outward, sharp and suffocating, her body shifting as fangs lengthened in an instant, ws slicing through her fingertips as her strength surged. She was still human, not fully transforming but she had borrowed strength from her wolf.
However, beside her, George’s bones cracked.
Loud. Sickening.
His body jerked violently as a low growl tore from his throat, muscles ripping and reshaping as he dropped lower and then, he changed.
A massive ck wolf reced him, towering, powerful, its fur bursting with raw strength. Its eyes locked onto me instantly, glowing with rage, a deep menacing growl vibrating through its chest.
Both of them turned to me, ready to fight and for a moment, no one moved.
No one breathed.
Then, a lowugh slipped out of me and I pped, slow and excited, like a child watching a performance they loved.
“That’s it,” I said brightly, bouncing slightly in the air. “Yes-very good. You are much stronger now. Come on,e at me together!”
My eyes sparkled.
This is what I wanted!
George growled again.
I hissed through clenched teeth. “I will fucking tear you apart,” she spat with sharp killing intent and then they moved.
So fast the air itself split.
I shot forward first, ws aimed straight for my neck, while George circled behind in beast form, massive jaws open, aiming to trap me with no escape.
Two angles, no space or exit. If it were anyone else fighting against them, they would have a difficult time escaping this fetal attack or worse, they would lose their heads before they even tried to move.
Good, it was a very good strategy.
I watched in amusement as their killing intent locked onto me from both sides, and yet I just stood there smiling, unbothered.
“Wow…” I murmured softly, almost impressed. “That speed is actually not bad.” My eyes flicked to George mid-charge. “You’re faster than I expected,” I admitted lightly.
The air tightened, and I could hear The’s voice somewhere in the distance, sharp with panic.
“Lilith!”

Verya had stood up too, tension flickering in her eyes like she was debating whether to step in. But I didn’t look at them. I didn’t even blink.
“But you…” My lips curved slightly as I shifted my gaze to I. “you’re relying too much on rage. Your stance is off by half a
second.”
The moment those words fell, the distance between us closed.
They were there.
ws descending. Fangs closing in.
However, I simply tilted my head, almost curious, like I was observing something mildly interesting.
“However….what is the use of speed…” My smile deepened.
“If you are still not faster than your enemy?”
I disappeared.
Their ws sliced through nothing, tearing air where my throat had been a fraction earlier and before any of them could even blink or react, I was behind Ivy, leaning in casually.
My head resting lightly on her shoulder, my lips curling into a smirk as I hummed softly.
“No matter how strong or fast you think you are,” I murmured, voice almost gentle, “someone else will always be better than you.”
I’s eyes widened.
George froze for half a second, then both of them reacted at once, snapping back into motion.
However…too slow.
I clicked my tongue softly and moved.
My hand shot out, gripping I by the neck in one clean motion. At the same time, I skipped backward, twisting my body just enough to let George’s attack slice through empty space instead of me.
And the next second- I was lifted off the ground like she weighed nothing at all, my hand wrapped around her throat. A few meters away, George skidded to a halt, eyes widening as he jerked his head in our direction.
“I…” he murmured, his voice shaking.
His gaze locked onto her as she dangled in my grip, fingers wing at my wrist, nails scraping in panic as she struggled for air. Her face was already losing color, her breath breaking into small, desperate gasps and I just looked at her.
Smiling.
Like I wasn’t holding someone’s life in my hand as I continued.
“Someone would always be stronger but don’t be discouraged,” I coned softly, tightening my grip just slightly as she choked harder, her body trembling. My smile only grew sharper.
“You can still get better so train harder. Otherwise….” My gaze flicked briefly to the severed head on the ground. “You will end up like your sister.”

Something shifted. I’s eyes trembled as she turned, just slightly, toward the head as a glint seemed to sh in her gaze.
Hurt. Guilt. Rage. Grief, too many emotions at once.
Her struggling slowed, her hands loosened. Tears slipped down her face as her lips parted soundlessly.
“Ivy..” she mouthed brokenly. “I’m sorry…”
She cried out yet I stared at her for a second longer and thenughed at the pathetic scene before me,ughed as she cried for her dead sister.
I could feel it, Lilith inside me shifting, uneasy, like she didn’t like what she was seeing. I tilted my head slightly, stillughing
“Don’: tell me you’re feeling bad now, human?” I murmured through the mindlink, amused. “They reck of blood. Of death. Do you want to know what the goddess believes in?”
My smile widened.
“Karma.”
Silence.
Then Lilith’s voice, colder now as she asked back.
“Does that mean you will get yours too? You are as cruel as they are Drevena”
Myugh softened into a grin as her voice rang through the space but before I could answer, I suddenly snapped.
“I would kill you.” Her head lifted sharply, eyespletely red now, rage fully consuming her. “I would kill you for what you did to Ivy!”
Her aura exploded almost immediately, and George moved instantly, shifting behind me in a blur, ws aimed straight for my back.
At the same time, I surged forward, grabbing at my arm with raw, desperate strength, trying to pry herself from my grip and she actually managed to pull.
Not becau
se she was stronger but because I let her.
My eyes glinted in excitement as I released my grip on her neck and smiled wider.
Well…this has just gotten a lot more interesting.
