Chapter 435

"I got connected through Joseph, reached Ratcliff Global. If you handle things well,

the Meyer family will pull through...”

Hank wiped his eyes. "Alright. I understand. You don''t have to worry."

He knew exactly what was happening. Bailey was caught up in illegal organ trafficking, and now the truth was out. The police were investigating everything, and all the terrible things from the past were finallying to light.

The Meyer Group''s reputation was in shambles. Trying to bring the Meyer family back from this felt impossible.

Bailey seemed to understand what Hank was thinking. He let out a quiet sigh. "The Meyer family... it''s been my life''s work... all for nothing..."

When he first took over, the Meyer family was just a small, namelesspany in Brookfield. No one even noticed them.

But after partnering with Nathaniel, he grew the business into something people actually talked about.

Ironically, it was those things he did with Nathaniel twenty years ago that ended up destroying everything.

Bailey''s breathing turned shallow, his eyes losing focus.

"Did Reese...e?" he asked, his voice barely more than a whisper.

He tried to keep his eyes open, searching the room for someone, but he never saw the face he wanted to see most.

Hank kept his head down and said nothing.

Disappointment filled Bailey''s eyes, fading into emptiness.

He understood. Reese would never forgive him. She couldn''t even bring herself to say goodbye.

Maybe it was better this way. A man like him didn''t deserve forgiveness.

As his mind drifted, he thought he saw Marie.

She was there in a white dress, standing in soft, golden light, smiling at him just like she always used to.

    "Marie, did youe for me..."

He reached out, desperate to touch her, to get closer.

Matterhow hard he tried, he O up. Her smile fadevet

and farther away until it disappeared into the right

"Marie... wait for me..." he whispered, tears sliding down his cheeks.

Slowly, he closed his eyes. The venttor grew quiet. On the monitor, the line ttened out.

    "Dad! Dad!"

Hank realized what was happening. He broke down, sobbing, his cries echoing through the room.

"I''m so sorry for your loss." The nurse gently patted Hank''s shoulder and nced at the clock.

At 1:45 in the afternoon, Bailey died of a heart attack.

Hank copsed onto the floor, tears pouring down his face. Years of buried feelings finally broke loose all at once.

He had hated Bailey. He hated him for cheating, for breaking thew, for always putting the Meyer family''s interests first.

But now Bailey was gone. Really gone. And all Hank felt was overwhelming grief and regret.

    Outside the ICU, Roman stood

behind the ss, listening to Hank''s

cries and watching him clutch the

    hospital bed, Roman''s brow

    furrowed, his expression dark.

Bailey was dead. Nathaniel was still unconscious in his hospital bed. The old organ trafficking case involved so many people, and Roman had no idea when or if the truth would evere out.

He felt nothing but regret and helplessness.

Just then, a police officer rushed over, face pale and voice tight with panic.

“Mr. Sanchez, something''s wrong. Nathaniel... Nathaniel escaped from his hospital room!"
