Chapter 434

Hank felt his legs wobble. "Can I go see him now?"

"Not yet. The ICU has strict rules. You can only visit during certain hours," the doctor said, shaking his head. "We''re doing everything we can, but you should be prepared for the worst."

Hank slumped against the wall, his eyes fixed on the ICU''s closed doors. His thoughts were all over the ce, emotions tangled up inside him.

He pulled out his phone, thinking he should call Reese, let her know about Bailey, ask her toe see him while there was still time.

He found her number, but his finger froze over the call button. He let out a bitterugh.

What was the point? Reese wouldn''te.

He''d grown up with Bailey raising him, but even he couldn''t help resenting the man after learning the truth. Bailey''s actions had led Grace to cause the ident that killed their mother.

And Reese? She''d left the Meyer family when she was just six. After that, she barely spoke to Bailey.

When their mother died, Bailey and Hank had let Grace twist the story, ming everything on Reese. The family broke apartpletely after that.

Even now, the only reason he and his father had reached out to Reese was to use her for the de project. There hadn''t been any real concern, not for a long time.

He nced at the officers by the ICU door, then walked to the end of the hall and sat on a bench. Leaning his head back, he closed his eyes, feeling exhausted.

    ...

Inside the ICU, Baileyy on the bed, tubes everywhere, the venttor hissing with every strained breath.

He managed to open his eyes, though everything was hazy. All he could see was the blurry light on the ceiling.

The pain in his body was nearly unbearable, but his mind was clear as ever. He knew he wouldn''tst much longer.

"Hank.....” he whispered, his voice so soft it barely made a sound.

The nurse by his bed pressed the call button, then leaned down. "Mr. Meyer, what do you need?"

"Let... let Hanke in..." Bailey said, struggling with every word, desperation flickering in his eyes.

The nurse nodded and left, ing back quickly with Hank.

Seeing his father like that, so weak and helpless, Hank''s throat

tightened. He nearly burst into you.

    swer

    "Dad, I''m here."

Bailey''s gaze found his son, lips moving slowly. "I... I don''t have much

    time. There''s something. In Much

    tell you..."

"Don''t talk, Dad. Just rest. The doctor said you''ll get better," Hank said, his voice thick.

"It''s no use..." Bailey shook his head, his breathing growing weaker. "I know my own body."

He looked at Hank, guilt heavy in his eyes.

"I''ve put you through so much... Thepany, everything... You''ve carried all of it..."

Hank shook his head fast. "Dad, it''s what I''m supposed to do."

“My shares.....” Bailey paused, gathering his strength. “Give sixty percent to Reese..."

"This is my way of making it up to her... Her mom died so young... and as her father, I wasn''t there for her..."

"All these years, I treated her so badly... even used her..."

His voice shook, pain crossing his face. "These shares... it''s the only thing I can do for her now..."

"This is all I have to give... and it''s my way of saying sorry..."

He looked at Hank, his eyes pleading. Promise me... don''t hold anything against Reese... Help her from now on. Look after Ramos Corporation... and the Meyer family too..."

Hank nodded, tears streaming down his face. "I promise, Dad."

Bailey seemed to rx a little and went on. "And about de... don''t go to Reese

    for it anymore..."
