Chapter 271

He tapped the file with his finger. "Dad said as long as you sign this, after the Meyer family buys Ramos Corporation, your shares won''t change."

Reese nced at the contract, ck ink on white paper, and didn''t move a muscle. She gave a half-smile. "I''m not signing that."

If Dylon hade after her with something else, she might have been worried. But he was clueless enough to stir up drama about her fighting for control of Ramos Corporation.

He must''ve forgotten she still had proof of how he shorted Ramos Corporation back then.

"Reese!" Hank, frustrated with her stubbornness, raised his voice. "Have you seen what''s happening right now?"

He opened the stock market app, and the sharp drop on the green line stung the eyes.

"Ramos Corporation''s stock has dropped twenty-three percent since this morning. Almost a billion dors in value, gone. The banks have frozen our credit. All our partners have pulled out. Even the factory workers are threatening to strike!"

He leaned in, his face tight with anxiety. "Let me be honest with you. I''ve already talked to the other shareholders. Tomorrow morning, they''re handing their shares over to Dad and me."

Reese looked at him calmly. "And what good will that do?"

"I own nearly forty percent of Ramos Corporation. As long as I don''t agree, you can''t acquire thepany. I''m still the legal owner."

    "You"

Hank jumped up, jabbing a finger at her. "You''re being ridiculous. Are you really going to watch mother''s hard work go up in smoke?"

Reese brushed his hand away before he could poke her in the nose and let out a coldugh. "That''s still better than having someone who would betray their own family take it over."

She didn''t want to argue anymore. She grabbed her bag and walked out of the room.

Her phone buzzed. It was a message from Matthew.

She opened it and saw Tara''s prenatal medical report. Reese slowed down as her eyesnded on the words: "Chromosomal karyotype 47,XYY. Termination rmended."

    XYY syndrome?

So the baby really did have issues. No wonder Tara staged that scene at the conference.

Reese narrowed her eyes and called Patrick.

    "Ms. Meyer-"

"I''ve got Tara''s prenatal records. There''s a problem with her baby. That whole scene at the conference was her doing."

Before Patrick could say anything, Reese went on, "Check the surveince footage from the conference. Focus on anything strange Tara did."

With how much blood there was, it couldn''t have been just a fall. She probably took something beforehand.

"And see if you can find any hospital records of her being prescribed abortion medication."

"What about the stuff online? Should I have PR clear things up?"

Patrick sounded unsure, probably wondering if Reese had seen the trending posts.

    "Stay put for now."

Reese chuckled. "Let them talk. The more noise the better. Gather all the liquid funds we have and find a way to get third parties and shareholders to break ties. Buy up whatever shares we can. Every bit helps."

That was the only way to push the shareholders to dump Ramos Corporation.

They were already spoiled by Dylon. If they didn''t see a chance to cash out, there was no way they''d let Bailey get their shares so easily.

Plus, judging by how desperate the Meyer family was to get in with the Ratcliff family, they probably didn''t have the money to buy everyone out. They just couldn''t pull it off

She needed the drama to get bigger. When the Meyer family couldn''t follow through and shareholders got desperate to sell, that would be her chance.

It was just a few nastyments online; Reese had dealt with worse. She didn''t care at all.

Patrick knew Reese had always nned to deal with the shareholders. Now he understood exactly what she was aiming for.

    "Got it.

"But Ms. Meyer, it''s not just the Meyer family reaching out to the shareholders. There are otherpanies bidding, and their offers are higher. Three shareholders have already agreed to sell."
