It was already nine o''clock at night by the time they got home from the square. Standing at the door, Evelyn went inside first. Eleanor looked back at the man behind her. "Thank you for tonight."
With that,n turned and left.
Eleanor closed the door and went inside. Joslyn had already called her daughter in for a bath. Eleanor set down her purse just as her phone rang. Seeing it was an unknown number, she answered it. "Hello? Who is this?"
"Ellie, it''s Mr. Archer," a kind, gentle voice said from the other end.
Eleanor''s face lit up. "Mr. Archer! How have you been?"
"I''m doing very well. Listen, I have a grandnephew who just graduated from medical school. He''s an exceptional candidate in every respect, and I was hoping he could intern with you for six months. What do you think?"
Eleanor was pleasantly surprised by Andy Archer''s proposal. Herb was about tounch, and she was in desperate need of staff. Mr. Archer was not only a close friend of herte father but also a titan in the medical field. Anyone he personally rmended was guaranteed to have immense ability and potential.
"Mr. Archer, I haveplete confidence in anyone you rmend," Eleanor said sincerely. "Actually, my newb is in the preparatory stages, so we''re looking for people right now."
"That''s wonderful. The boy''s name is Diaz Archer. His academic performance was outstanding, and he''s participated in several relevant projects. I''ll give him your contact information and have him send his resume over to you shortly."
"Of course, Mr. Archer," Eleanor readily agreed.
"Take a look at his resume first, then decide whether you want to hire him," Andy said with a gentleugh. After a few more pleasantries, they hung up.
Putting down her phone, Eleanor was lost in thought for a moment. She was genuinely hoping to bring some new blood into theb.
She went upstairs to the second floor, opened herptop, and continued to refine the preparations for the newboratory She had to make every dor from The Guild of Commerce''s fund count and produce results as quickly as possible to honor Mr. Aaron''s trust in her.
For the next three days, Eleanor rested at home. Joslyn made sure to buy the best groceries, hoping to cook some hearty meals for her.
But Eleanor had always been disciplined about her figure and had recently started working out more frequently. She needed to maintain her stamina for the work ahead.
Three dayster, an email appeared in Eleanor''s inbox. She opened it to find Diaz''s resume. After reading it thoroughly, she was filled with admiration. He was truly from
family of doctors. His grasp
medical theory was solid, and the
projects he had participated in
during school had already achieved
a degree of sess.
His most recent research project explored ideas that were strikingly simr to some
of Eleanor''s own concepts.
Eleanor was convinced that Diaz was exactly the kind of talent she wanted to recruit.
She replied to his email, asking him to meet her at the coffee shop by her residentialplex at nine the next morning for an in-person interview.
"Of course, Ellie. I''ll be there on time," Diaz quickly responded.
The next morning, Eleanor drove her daughter to school herself. Since she was on a break, she didn''t bother askingn for a ride.
After dropping Evelyn off, Eleanor had breakfast nearby and then parked her car in a spot next to the coffee shop.
She went inside to wait, enjoying the quiet morning atmosphere. Watching the hurried pedestrians outside, she savored the rare moment of peace.
Just then, a ck Maybach pulled up next to the coffee shop. Gavin was there to pick upn for a flight; he had a three-day business trip.
