Chapter 755: You’re a gamma, Denzel

"But it’s still confusing. Why were you even there, Director?" Juniper asked, her voice thin. "You could have just called an ambnce for me."
"There wasn’t time to wait for an ambnce. I drove you here myself," Denzel said, his tone clipped and efficient. "Besides, I had intended to speak with you regarding the office culture. I’m aware the manager has been hiding things he shouldn’t have."
Juniper shook her head slightly, a wince crossing her face. "But that makes it worse. You shouldn’t be asking me about thepany atmosphere. My colleagues already dislike me enough as it is."
"The person who did this will be found soon," Denzel stated, ignoring her protest. "This is the second time you’ve been hurt. The first incident might have been an ident, but this? This was intentional."
Juniper searched his face, her gaze lingering for a long moment. "Why are you being so kind to me?" she whispered.
Denzel didn’t blink. "I would have done the same for anyone else in your position," he replied.
"You’re missing my point," Juniper remarked, her voice barely a whisper. "You’re being kind to me in a way people just... aren’t. Even my own family wasn’t this good to me."
Denzel remained silent for a long moment, the clinical hum of the hospital filling the gap between them.
"Maybe I just don’t want to see you treated that way anymore," he finally answered.
"Regardless, thank you for helping me. I truly mean it," Juniper said, her eyes drifting to the IV bag. "But you should go. I’ll head out once this is finished."
"June, I’m not leaving," Denzel countered, his tone leaving no room for debate. "I’m dropping you home personally." He rose from his seat and pulled the privacy curtains around her bed, creating a small, fabric-walled sanctuary.
Left alone with her thoughts, Juniper looked down at her heavily bandaged hand and sighed.
’Who would do this? she wondered. It felt targeted, precise. Her mind instinctively drifted toward a dangerous possibility. Should I ask Nick for protection? Maybe he—’
She stopped herself mid-thought, a bitter taste in her mouth. Dominick hated her. He had made that clear enough. She refused to go back to him, begging for help that would onlye with more scorn.
Denzel returned with a small bag of prescriptions and a couple of energy drinks he’d picked up from the hospital kiosk. As he walked down the quiet corridor, his mind raced.
’These attacks aren’t random,’ he thought. ’The public’s obsession with the pce is toxic. No matter how much the royal PR tries to bury the scandal, the rumors about the divorce have leaked. People see her as the woman who tried to manipte Prince Dominick into taking the throne as the next Alpha King. They’ve made her the viin of the story.’
He reached the bedside and pulled back the privacy curtains. His expression softened the moment he saw her looking so small against the white sheets.
Denzel helped her sitting against the pillow on the hospital bed.
"Here, drink this. It’ll help with the lightheadedness," he said, popping the tab on a can and handing it to her.
Juniper took a slow, grateful sip. The cold liquid seemed to ground her. "Thank you," she murmured, then looked up at him seriously. "You should tell me the total for the bills. I need to pay you back for the treatment and the medicine."
"It’s fine," Denzel said. "I’ll put it in thepany tabs asking your manager."
Juniper turned quiet and finished the drink. He took it from her and threw it into the bin.
"June, do you want me to speak to the Pce about what happened to you?" Denzel asked, his voice steady.
"What? No," she refused immediately, her eyes widening. "I have no rtionship with them anymore."
"You might not, but whatever transpired between you and Prince Dominick is only hurting you now," Denzel countered. "I see how people treat you at thepany. A failed marriage is never just one person’s burden, yet you’re the only one paying the price. Dominick needs to know what you’re enduring, because he’s the only one with the power to stop the harassment."
"He hates me, Denzel. Thest time we spoke, it only..." Juniper trailed off. She couldn’t bring herself to finish the sentence.
Denzel watched her closely, noting the way her spirit seemed to dim at the mere mention of the Prince. "I will talk to him myself," he offered.
Juniper let out a dry chuckle, though there was no humor in it. "That would be beyond strange. Why on earth would you talk to him? What would you even say?"
"I’m only going by what I’ve observed so far," Denzel replied, his gaze unwavering.
"I did make mistakes," Juniper admitted, her voice dropping to a fragile whisper. "I was selfish and arrogant when I became Dominick’s wife. I thought I was untouchable. I hurt not only him but many in the Sinir family, Denzel. Maybe this is just the universe bncing the scales. Maybe I deserve to suffer like this."
"Whatever mistakes you made shouldn’t be a license for people to hunt you down," Denzel stated firmly.
"That’s a crime, not karma. If the Pce wanted to punish you, they did it in their own way. Your private life isn’t meant to be a source of public entertainment or violence. How long do you think you can survive this? You need to stand up for yourself, June. Talking to the one person who can shut this down isn’t a weakness. And I’m telling you, Dominick wouldn’t let this continue if he knew the truth."
Juniper let out a sharp, skeptical chuckle. "You’re a Gamma, Denzel. Do you even realize what you’re saying? Nick holds a position far above yours. Why would a Prince listen to a word you say?"
A flicker of pride crossed Denzel’s face as he straightened his posture. "I believe the Royal Family listens to the truth when it’s presented correctly. Besides, I have Prince Gabriel’s backing. I’ll speak to Prince Dominick myself. Don’t worry about the hierarchy; just focus on getting better."
