Chapter 874

As Yvonne happened to look back, she saw Bet walking in from outside.

She saw him, and he was looking at her, a gentle smile gracing his lips, his deep, dark eyes warming instantly.

"Bet, you''re here," Cynthia said with a smile when she turned and saw him. She then teased, "You''re such a busy man, we never see you around. But the moment Yvonne shows up, youe chasing after her. Are you afraid we''ll bully your wife?"

    Bet simply smiled in response.

"You''re just in time. You can try on your suits as well, then I won''t have to make another trip just for you," Emma said, her smile growing even wider at the sight of

    her son.

    "Alright," Bet agreed readily.

Emma hadn''t chosen as many outfits for Bet as she had for Yvonne, but there were still nearly ten suits. A full range of different colors and styles was prepared.

Of course, Bet didn''t have the patience to try on so many. He picked out three or four that wouldplement Yvonne''s chosen wedding gown and dresses.

Yvonne''s gown was a simple, elegant style. Bet changed into a ck suit with a retro-inspired cut and design. With his tall, slender frame and the distinguished air of a soldier, he looked exceptional.

Standing next to Yvonne, the two of them were simply a breathtaking sight.

"Bet and Yvonne are truly a match made in heaven," Cynthia praised without reservation.

    Emma nodded in satisfaction.

Yvonne remained silent, but she didn''t look well. Her smile seemed forced.

Bet could tell she was feeling unwell again and said, "Since the outfits don''t need any major alterations, we''ll go get changed."

After changing back into her clothes, Yvonne rushed straight to the restroom.

When she came out after throwing up, her face was damp and pale, the corners of her eyes tinged with red.

As she stepped out of the restroom, she saw Bet waiting for her by the door. He had also changed back into his simple shirt and trousers, yet he still exuded a calm, outstanding presence.

"You were sick again?" Bet asked, wrapping aforting arm around her, his heart aching for her.

Yvonne leaned against his chest, looking utterly miserable and wilted.

Bet sighed softly. He suddenly felt a pang of regret, wondering if he shouldn''t have let Yvonne get pregnant so soon. Maybe if she hadn''t, she wouldn''t have to endure this suffering.

It was clear that Bet cared far more for Yvonne than for the child.

Back when Yvonne had left him, all he wanted was for her to return to his side Now that she was back he found himself wanting a child a symbol of their love. Human greed, he mused, grows step by step.

It wasn''t until Yvonne began experiencing all sorts of difort during her pregnancy that Bet realized what a difficult and potentially dangerous ordeal it was for a woman.

His own mother had nearly died giving birth to him. Although modern medicine had drastically reduced maternal mortality rates, the risk wasn''t zero.

If anything happened to Yvonne because of this child, Bet knew he would hate himself to death.

But the baby was already growing

inside her. If he were to say he didn''t

want it now, everyone would think he was insane, The Thompson family, from his grandfather down to

    Frank''s family, would never agree.

"I''ll take you home first," Bet said, his warm hand gently stroking the top of her head.

    "Okay," Yvonne nodded weakly.

Bet swept her up into his arms and strode towards the exit.

Emma and Cynthia were waiting for them by the entrance. When Emma saw

Bet carrying Yvonne, her heart leaped into her throat.
