"Honestly, if we could get Thomas for the part, this show would be a guaranteed hit," Director Davis said with a sigh of regret.
Hearing this, Sandra instinctively turned to look at Yvonne.
Yvonne asked, "Why are you looking at me?"
Sandra replied, "I''ll have my assistant contact Thomas''s team and check his avability. Yvonne, business is business, and personal is personal. We shouldn''t mix the two."
This was thepany''s first in-house production. If it became a hit, it would make their reputation overnight. The allure of a blockbuster was too strong for Sandra to resist; even she was wavering.
"Do what you want," Yvonne replied, touching her forehead.
The dinnersted nearly two hours before everyone went their separate ways.
Director Davis had been drinking and couldn''t drive, so Sandra had to give her a ride home.
Sandra left first with a tipsy Director Davis.
Yvonne and Cynthia walked out of the restaurant one after the other.
"My car is parked outside. Would you like a ride?" Cynthia offered with a warm and polite smile.
"Thank you for the kind offer, Ms. Scott, but my husband is here to pick me up." As Yvonne spoke, she saw Bet''s ck Mercedes pull up to the restaurant entrance.
A door opened, and Bet stepped out, striding toward them on his long legs.
"Cynthia." Bet greeted her with perfect courtesy.
Cynthia smiled. "You two are so close. It''s truly enviable."
Cynthia''s car was also parked in front, and the two luxury vehicles were blocking the road. One of them had to move immediately.
"I won''t keep you two lovebirds. I''ll be on my way," Cynthia said with a smile and a wave, tactfully taking her leave.
Her driver respectfully opened the door, and once Cynthia was inside, the car quickly drove away.
Yvonne watched Cynthia''s car depart, a thoughtful look on her face.
"What are you thinking about?" Bet asked with a gentle smile, wrapping an arm around her slender waist.
Yvonne pulled her gaze back and recounted the gist of her conversation with Cynthia from dinner.
Bet listened and nodded, his expression calm and unruffled.
Cynthia''s sole purpose in returning to the country was Noah, so it wasn''t surprising that she would say such things.
"Cynthia hasn''t had it easy, either. If Noah decides he wants to rekindle things with her, it might not be such a bad thing,” Bet remarked with a sigh.
Yvonne looked at him, confused.
