Chapter 782

    After the light went out,

the tent plunged into darkness. It was so quiet you could hear each other breathe.

The sudden darkness was a bit disorienting for Yvonne. She instinctively reached for the man beside her, and just as her hand grasped his arm, the tent filled with light.

It wasn''tmplight, but tiny, twinkling points of light, moving around inside the tent. Yvonne sat up, surprised. "Are these... fireflies?"

"Yes," Bet replied. "It took me a while to find them."

Yvonne asked, "So, that''s why you were gone so long? You went into the woods to find fireflies?"

"Yes," Bet nodded. "Do you like it?"

Yvonne sat up straighter, her eyes sparkling as they reflected the shimmering light of the fireflies. It was beautiful.

Bet lowered his gaze, staring at her intently.

"I never knew Mr. Bet Thompson was so romantic. I..." Before Yvonne could finish her sentence, Bet leaned in and kissed her.

In the dimly lit tent, the only light came from the twinkling fireflies.

Bet smelled of fresh grass from the forest, an intoxicating scent.

Yvonne hadn''t expected camping to be so exhausting. She slept untilte the next morning and probably would have kept sleeping if it weren''t for Nic''s cheerful chattering.

“Bet, what time is it?" Yvonne asked, sitting up and rubbing her eyes.

When no one answered, she frowned, realizing she was alone in the tent.

Yvonne got dressed and stepped out of the tent to find Letitia ying with Nic by the entrance.

"Auntie Yvonne, you''re awake!" Nic eximed when she saw her, toddling over on her short legs with a bright smile.

"Good morning, Nic," Yvonne said, ruffling her hair.

"It''s not morning anymore! Auntie Yvonne is a sleepyhead, shame on you," Nic said in her sweet, childish voice.

    Letitia walked over, her voice

dripping with a mix of envy and jealousy "Mr Bet Thompson certainly has some stamina, wearing you out so much you only just got up

Yvonne coughed awkwardly and changed the subject. “Where is everyone else?"

"Mr. Noah Thompson and Mr. Taylor went fishing by theke. Your husband drove

off somewhere-probably to get you breakfast. He should be back soon."

"Oh," Yvonne nodded. "And the Scotts?"

"Cynthia and Lionel? That pair left

    early this morning. Apparently,

Cynthia had to work. A famous

producer and screenwriter is a different breed from us Tele ger kids, Tsuppose."

After saying her piece, Letitia nudged Nic toward Yvonne.

"Since you''re up, you can take this little brat. Her constant chattering this morning is driving me crazy With that, Letitia turned and went back to her own tent.

Yvonne took Nic''s little hand, and they sat down on a bench near the tent.

Yvonne casually picked some foxtail grass and wove two fluffy little rabbits for Nic, which made her giggle.

Amidst Nic''sughter, the sound of a car engine suddenly cut through the air. Yvonne looked up and saw Bet''s ck Mercedes G-ss parked nearby. Once the car was stopped, Bet got out, carrying an insted food container.

As Bet walked over with the container, Nic saw him and ran up. "Uncle Bet, you''re back!"

"Yes," Bet said, ruffling Nic''s hair before walking over to Yvonne.
