Chapter 776

Yvonne and Bet were already legally married. Even if it wasn''t public, she was officially Mrs. Thompson, the futuredy of the Thompson family.

Even Mr. James Sr. would have to be deferential to Yvonne now, let alone Letitia.

It wasn''t the first time Yvonne had seen Letitia trailing after Dominic, so she wasn''t surprised this time. The fact that Caroline wasn''t here, however, was rather odd.

"You''ve only set up two tents. Which one are Yvonne and I supposed to stay in?" Bet asked as he walked over to Dominic.

"We''re not done yet. You two are just in time to help," Dominic said, pointing to a pile of camping equipment on the ground.

Bet wasn''t one to stand on ceremony. He took off his jacket, tossed it aside, and started setting up the tents with Dominic.

Letitia hovered around them, handing them tools and materials, looking incredibly busy.

Yvonne had no interest in manualbor, so she grabbed a kite and went to find Nic.

"Nic, want to fly a kite with me? It''s shaped like a swallow. I''m really good at this, I can get it to fly super high," Yvonne said, dangling the kite in front of the little girl. Nic''s eyes lit up at the sight of it. "Auntie Yvonne, let''s go fly the kite!"

"Let''s go," Yvonne said, taking Nic''s hand.

"Then I''ll leave Nic with you. Thank you for this," Noah said with a gentle smile.

"It''s no trouble. I''m quite fond of Nic," Yvonne replied before leading the little girl away.

Yvonne took Nic to an open field to fly the kite. She was indeed skilled, and soon the swallow kite was soaring high in the sky. Nic''s silveryughter echoed across thekeside.

By the time Noah returned to the campsite, Bet and Dominic had finished setting up thest tent.

"Noah, Bet, you guys take a break. Letitia and I will set up the grill," Dominic announced, then led Letitia off to prepare for the barbecue. A camping trip would beplete without one.

Bet wiped the dust from his hands and sat down at the table with Noah.

In the distance, Yvonne was flying the kite with Nic. The two figures, onerge

and one small, were having the time of their lives.

Bet''s gaze fell upon them, and he frowned slightly when he noticed the tear in Nic''s dress. "Why would you dress, ber in a prince gown for a camping trip? It''s so inconvenient for running around."

Noah rubbed his forehead in frustration. "Nic insisted on wearing a dress. I couldn''t say no to her. I should have brought a change of clothes."

It was understandable that a man like Noah wouldn''t have much experience dressing a child.

"Where''s Karina? Why didn''t shee with you?" Bet asked.

He couldn''t believe Karina would just leave Noah alone with such a young child. Some mother she was.

Noah replied, "Karina went back to her parents'' ce."

"Did you two have a fight?" Bet pressed.

Noah shook his head, his expression grim.

He and Karina had indeed argued, but Karina valued her position as the eldest son''s wife above all else; she would never run home to her parents over a simple fight.

If she went back this time, it must be because the White family was in trouble again.

He had no idea what mess they had gotten into now, for her to abandon her own child and rush back.

Just thinking about Karina made Noah''s brow furrow.

His tired gaze shifted to Nic, and

    he quickly changed the subject.

"Your wife seems to really like.

    children. When

are you two nning to have one? You''re not getting any

    younger, you know. It''s time.
