Mrs. Walker plopped down on the sofa and sneered, "Vincent bought this house, didn''t he? Since he bought it, it belongs to both of us. I''m not trespassing by entering my own property."
April was rendered speechless. Mrs. Walker was right.
As Vincent''s mistress, she had no legal standing. Now that she was exposed, she was a target for everyone''s scorn.
Even though the house was in her name, Vincent had indeed paid for it, and his money was technically marital property shared with Mrs. Walker.
"What''s wrong, not calling the police anymore? So you do know you''re a shameful mistress," one of Mrs. Walker''s sisters chimed in, equally vicious.
They didn''t just smash things; they ransacked her drawers and closets.
All of April''s clothes, jewelry, and luxury items were pulled out.
When Mrs. Walker saw the jewels and designer watches-things she herself couldn''t bear to buy—piled up in April''s collection, her eyes turned red with fury.
"You little slut! With that seductive face of yours, you must have served my husband well for him to spend so much money on you!" Mrs. Walker grabbed April, ready to hit her again.
But April was an instructor at the police academy. Even if she''d cked on her training over the years, handling a few defenseless women was more than manageable.
"Mrs. Walker, you''ve wrecked my home. I''m choosing not to argue with you, but that doesn''t mean I''m a pushover. You''d better know when to stop," April warned, grabbing Mrs. Walker''s arm and shoving her aside.
"You bitch, you dare to fight back! I''ll kill you!" Mrs. Walker shrieked, lunging at April along with her two sisters, trying to w at her.
April hadn''t wanted to get physical, but she was pushed to her limit.
With a swift kick for each, she sent Mrs. Walker''s sisters to the floor, unable to get up.
As for the p Mrs. Walker had given her, April returned it in kind.
"Bitch, you dare hit me! You just wait!" Mrs. Walker clutched her face with one hand while pointing at April with the other.
"You went too far," April said coldly.
The standoff was interrupted when Mr. Walker pushed the door open and walked in.
He saw the wreckage of the
apartment, the torn photo of him
and April on the floor. April stood by
the wall, a red handprint on her
cheek, her eyes filled with unshed tears.
When April saw him, she stubbornly held back her tears, her defiant look tearing at Mr. Walker''s heart.
Seeing her husband, Mrs. Walker burst into tears and threw herself at him.
"Vincent, this bitch hit me! She actually hit me!"
Mrs. Walker was a mess of tears and snot, pletely devoid of her usual poise: Annoyed, Mr. Walker gave her a slight push and demanded with a dark face, "Who told you toe here and cause a scene?"
"This slut seduced you! Don''t I have the right toe and teach her a lesson?" Mrs. Walker retorted, feeling perfectly justified.
Although the scandal had died down with April''s dismissal and hadn''t implicated Mr. Walker, his reputation was still damaged.
He and his wife had long been seen as a model couple. Now, with his affair being
the talk of the town, Mrs. Walker had be aughingstock.
Unable to swallow her pride, she had brought her family to deal with the woman who had stolen her man.
Mr. Walker was furious. He looked at his secretary, who was standing by the door "Get someone to clean this up Rece anything that''s broken immediately."
"Yes, sir,” the secretary replied with a nod.
After giving the order, Mr. Walker nced at April but said nothing. He grabbed Mrs.
Walker''s arm and started dragging her out.
