Chapter 511

Thomas didn''t look pleased, but he said nothing. He just stood there, watching the ck Mercedes drive away.

The car left the hotel grounds, merged onto the main road, and disappeared into the flow of traffic.

"What were you and Thomas talking about just now?" Yvonne asked, ncing at the rearview mirror. She could still faintly see Thomas'' figure, standing in the same spot. "Nothing," Bet replied vaguely, turning the steering wheel.

Yvonne didn''t press the issue, changing the subject to share some funny stories from the set.

After leaving the city, the car entered the highway. The drive to Istra would take more than ten hours.

"If you get tired, take a nap. I''ll wake you when we get home," Bet said.

"You''re not tired from driving, so I''m certainly not tired from just sitting here," Yvonne said, turning her head to gaze at him intently.

In her past life, the one thing she wanted most before she died was to see him one more time.

It was so good to have the chance to see him again, to be able to look at him whenever and for however long she wanted.

"You''re trying to distract me from driving," Bet said, ncing at her. Their eyes met for a brief moment, his pupils filled with a gentle helplessness and deep affection.

Yvonne stuck her tongue out at him before turning back, sitting properly in her seat so as not to disturb his driving.

Soft music yed in the car. Yvonne hadn''t been sleepy, but the music gradually lulled her, and she leaned back in thefortable seat, drifting off before she knew

    it.

Bet pulled the car into a service area.

The car came to a stop, and Yvonne woke up.

She rubbed her eyes and asked the man beside her, "Are we here?"

"No, we''re at a rest stop. Let''s get out and stretch. It''s not good to sit in the car for too long." Bet then unbuckled her seatbelt and half-carried her out of the car.

Yvonne, bundled in her thick coat and wearing a mask, stretched her arms outzily.

Still worried she might be cold, Bet wrapped an arm around her. "Are you hungry? Want to get something to eat?"

They had been driving for seven or eight hours, and night had already fallen. Yvonne was indeed a bit hungry.

The food options at the rest stop

were limited. Bet and Yvonne et

had a quick fast food meal before getting back in the car.

There weren''t many vehicles on the highway at night, and Bet drove quickly.

As dawn approached, the car exited the highway and entered Istra.

By the time they reached Cherry Bay, the sky was bright.

They returned to the apartment just as Helen was getting up, preparing to take Bullet for a walk.

"Sir, Yvonne, why are you back at this hour?" Helen asked, looking

    happily wagged his tail.

    puzzled Buflet, see

"Yvonne was filming out of town. I drove to pick her up,” Bet replied. Helen asked, "Are you two hungry? Should I make you some breakfast?"

Bet said, "No rush. We''ll wash up and change first. You can take Bullet downstairs for now."

Helen nodded and led Bullet out.

Bet left Yvonne''s suitcase by the wall, not in a hurry to unpack it.

"You use the master bathroom. I''ll use the one in the guest room."

“Okay,” Yvonne nodded, kicking off her shoes and heading straight to the bedroom.

After sitting in a car for over ten

hours, she was quite tired. She took

a longfortable hot bath and changed her clothes beforeing out of the room.

    Bet was obviously faster.

He had already finished his shower and had even warmed up a ss of milk for her.
