Whether it was the Gonzalez family, George, or Oscar, their hands were stained with the blood of innocent victims. And Vincent, as a public official, had not only failed to serve the people but had be a monster preying on them.

“Now that Vincent has failed to get his promotion, as long as we can keep him in Istra, we''ll eventually find evidence of the Walker family''s crimes,” Bet added.

    Yvonne nodded.

More haste, less speed. For now, they could only take it one step at a time. It wasn''t like they could actually have Mr. Bet Thompson sell his body and marry Ynda.

"What are you thinking about?" Bet asked, noticing her eyes darting around. "Nothing," Yvonne replied, shaking her head with a guilty look.

Fortunately, Bet didn''t press the issue. Instead, he reached out, suddenly pulling her up and settling her onto hisp.

Yvonne sat in his embrace, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck.

"Now that we''ve covered business, shouldn''t we move on to personal matters?" Bet''s warm hand slid up to the back of her head. His deep eyes gazed at her intently as he leaned closer and closer.

Just as their lips were about to meet, the door to Helen''s room suddenly opened. Light spilled out, slightly ring.

Yvonne pushed Bet away on reflex, scrambling out of his embrace in a panic. In her haste, she tumbled from hisp onto the rug, nding in a slightly clumsy heap.

Helen, wrapped in a robe, came out of her room to the sight of Bet sitting calmly on the sofa while Yvonne was sprawled on the floor.

Bullet was lying by the floor-to-ceiling windows, wagging his tailzily, his ck doggy eyes looking lost and innocent.

"Yvonne, why are you sitting on the floor?" Helen asked, confused.

"I just slipped," Yvonne replied awkwardly.

“Are you hurt? It''s sote, why aren''t you sleeping? Falling over in the living room..... you''re always so clumsy,” Helen said, then turned her gaze to Bet.

"When did you get back, sir?"

    Bet replied, "Just now."

"Have you eaten? Shall I make you ate-night snack?" Helen asked.

"I''ve eaten Don''t trouble yourself, you should get some rest," Bet said He then stood up walked over

to vonne, and lifted her from the floor, carrying her straight toward the bedroom.

Helen stared in shock as Bet carried Yvonne right past her.

She rubbed her eyes hard, wondering if she was still half-asleep and hallucinating.

But even after rubbing her eyes raw, she saw Bet carry Yvonne into the master bedroom and shut the door with a soft click.

Once the door was closed, Bet gently pushed Yvonne onto the bed and kissed her deeply.

The kiss was so intense that Yvonne was left breathless. She had to bite his lip to finally break free.

She rested her hands on his chest, breathing raggedly.

Bet''s warm hand rested on her back, stroking it gently.

“Helen knows about us now," Yvonne mumbled, her lips slightly pouted.

"So what if she knows? We''re both single. There''s no need to hide it," Bet said matter-of-factly.

    Yvonne didn''t argue.

There was nothing shameful about their rtionship.

Bet held her for a little while

een rolled over and sat up

"I''m going to take a shower. you should get some sleep."

"Aren''t you going to stay with me?”, Yvonne asked, lying on her side on the plush bed her hand instinctively reaching for his.
