"You''re so stupid, you should just go to hell."
Jerome chuckled. “Yeah, you''re right. Someone like me probably should go to hell."
"To think I hurt my own sister for someone as malicious as you. Joanna, I''m going to enjoy watching you self-destruct, and I''ll especially enjoy watching you go to hell."
"Natalie sees things more clearly than you. She lives her life more earnestly and sincerely. At least she genuinely cared about us before, unlike your fake kindness."
"The day you finally hit rock bottom, I''ll pop my finest bottle of champagne just to celebrate your ruin.”
"You..." Joanna red at him, then a thought struck her.
“You came here to ask Natalie to operate on you. Does she actually know medicine?"
Jerome narrowed his eyes. What was she nning?
"Whether she''s a medical genius or not is none of your concern."
He had already heard what she said. Natalie''s refusal to operate on him was expected. But he knew he was wrong now; he truly understood how foolish he had been.
All he wanted was to stand up again so he could look after his mother and Natalie. Even if Natalie didn''t need it, he wanted to be a good brother.
"Back then, Natalie warned me not topete. I didn''t listen to her, and that''s why I ended up crippled."
"Even though that man took the fall for you and you can live your life without a care, your good days are numbered, Joanna. Your luck is taking a nosedive."
"You were dealt a winning hand, and youpletely blew it." Jerome''s lips curled into a mocking smile.
Joanna trembled violently and shook her head. “No, that won''t happen. Jerome, you''ll never see that day."
Joanna turned and went to Susan''s room.
Susan was awake and chatting with Natalie.
Natalie said she would bring her dinner back in a bit. Then she saw Joanna enter.
She quickly texted Natalie: [Natalie, Joanna''s here.]
Natalie replied: [She won''t dare to do anything in the hospital. Don''t be afraid.]
Susan looked at her. "Joanna, what are you doing here?"
Joanna walked over haughtily and stood before her. "Susan, locking you in the storage room was just to teach you a lesson. I know I was wrong I''llpensate you for it. Name your price anything as long as you don''t press charges.
Susanughed at that. "Sue you and send you to jail? That would be letting you off too easy. Don''t worry. For all the pain you''ve caused me in
piece by
the past, and for what you did today I''ll be getting it all back piece."
Joanna sneered, looking at her naive and innocent face. Where did she get the
confidence to think she could take her on? "Susan..."
"As for today''s incident, the evidence is solid. Wire one million dors to my ount, and we''ll call it even," she interrupted with a sweet smile, cutting Joanna off.
She watched as the color drained from Joanna''s face.
Joanna knew she couldn''t let this escte. If her malicious side was exposed to the public, everything would be over. Her perfect image was already cracking.
She forced a smile and agreed. “Fine, Susan. Anything that can be solved with money isn''t a problem. But you''re pretty cheap, only worth a million dors."
Susan didn''t get angry. She just smiled and ran with it. "Since you put
it that way, one million is too cheap. It''s an insult to someone as rich and powerful as you, Joanna. How about ten million?"
