Chapter 913

Natalie turned to see Joanna. After being thrown into the ocean by Sebastian, she had gotten sick.

Though she was still tethered to an IV pole and could barely steady herself, she dragged herself out of bed to find Sebastian.

Since Sean wasn''t dead, she had nothing to fear.

Those two men would take the fall, and without evidence, Sebastian couldn''t do anything to her.

She had just arrived when she overheard Natalie, and she had recorded it.

She wouldn''t miss any opportunity to drag Natalie down to hell. She was the only one who mattered.

Natalie stared at her. "You''ve got some nerve saying that. Joanna, Jerome is the brother who spent his entire life doting on you, and you had the nerve to harm even him. Why can''t I, aplete stranger to him now, just stand by and watch?"

"Don''t you dare pin this on me, Natalie. Jerome''s ident has nothing to do with me."

She only regretted that the car hadn''t killed Jerome. If he recovered fully, he would definitely make her life difficult.

Natalie scoffed. "Whether you had a hand in it or not, your conscience knows the truth."

She looked at Herbert. "Herbert, let''s go get dinner. I''m starving."

Herbert noticed the pallor of her skin and brushed a stray lock of hair from her forehead with a soft smile. “Let''s go. I''ll treat you to some barbecue."

Natalie left with Herbert, ignoring Sebastian and Joanna.

Sebastian stood motionless, his gaze burning into her back as she walked away, his jaw clenched tight.

Joanna was surprised. The hospital''s director was actually Natalie''s former mentor? How many things had Natalie been hiding from them?

But she had no time to dwell on that. She turned to Sebastian. "Sebastian, about what happened with Sean... I... I didn''t mean for it to happen. Sean is fine, and those two men have already confessed. I never told them to kidnap Sean.” Joanna hade over specifically to tell Sebastian this.

Sebastian finally looked at her, and the chilling cold in his eyes made Joanna tremble.

“Joanna, I really underestimated your cruelty."

Joanna froze. A heavy, suffocating silence followed Sebastian''s words. "Sebastian, what do you mean by that I... I was just fighting back after being bullied. How is that cruel

    Her voice trembled.

Sebastian let out a soft, yet terrifyingly bloodthirstyugh.

"What do I mean? Joanna, I let you get away with things time and time again, and in return, you hurt the people around me time and time again.”

“I... Sebastian, I''m sorry! With Sean, really didn''t mean for it to happen Susan was always badmouthing me and was just so angry I wanted to teach her a lesson."  fo

Joanna never expected Sebastian to find out about this.

Seeing the icy aura surrounding him, she felt like she was going crazy. She was really going to lose Sebastian.

“Sebastian, I know I was wrong. I really know I was wrong,” Joanna apologized frantically.

Sebastian pointed towards Susan''s room. "The person you should be apologizing to is Susan. What''s the use in apologizing to me?”

    With that, Sebastian walked away.

Joanna''s apologetic expression instantly twisted into one of pure malice. "Sebastian, you''ve got some nerve, don''t you? How dare you give me that attitude."

"Tsk! Joanna, you flip-flop between victim and viin faster than anyone I''ve

ver met. It''s because of that

quick change that we all fell for your

act of kindness for so long."

The mocking voice made Joanna spin around. She saw Jerome, sitting alone in a wheelchair.

He was here, which meant he must have heard what Natalie said earlier.

“Jerome, you useless piece of trash. Even Natalie won''t save you. How can you still stand to be alive?"
