Instead of letting go, Sebastian held Natalie firmly. He turned to his bodyguards and said, "Drag these two to the room across the hall. Beat them until they''re willing to name who''s behind this."
The bodyguards were the ones Sebastian had called up.
Four of them moved quickly, hauling the two men up and dragging them down the hall to a service lounge next to the fire escape.
Sebastian pulled Natalie along with them.
Natalie just sneered. “Stop the act, Sebastian. You got caught, so now you''re trying to turn this around on them?"
Sebastian felt like her intelligence had gone offline. "Natalie, if I had sent them, I would have been here watching. But these men really aren''t mine. That time I had the bodyguards hit you... that was my fault. I believed Joanna''s lies."
Every time Sebastian remembered it, he felt a sharp pang of regret. But what he didn''t want to admit, even more, was how that woman, Joanna, had yed him, a man so proud, for a fool.
“Shut up. Don''t talk about the past. You''re a thankless bastard,” Natalie said, still fuming. She struggled as she spoke. “You think a simple ''my fault'' can erase all the damage you''ve done?"
Natalie was so angry she was shaking, but Sebastian''s grip was too strong for her to break free.
She was forced to drop her suitcase and follow him into the service lounge.
She looked up and saw Sebastian''s furious expression. What right did he have to be angry? What right did he have to say her intelligence was offline?
Inside the lounge, the four bodyguards had beaten the two men savagely.
The two men were lying on the floor, barely breathing.
Seeing this, Natalie suddenly remembered one of them mentioning he''d been paid a million dors. She also recalled Sebastian''s usual methods-when he wanted to
deal with her, he used his own bodyguards, not outsiders.
She instantly fell quiet, waiting to see what would happen.
Seeing her calm down, Sebastian let out a breath of relief.
He had been with her for two years and knew she was smart. She would figure it out quickly.
He red down at the two men on the floor. "Talk. Who sent you?"
The men were struggling to breathe from the beating.
Sebastian''s terrifying voice came from above them, making them jump.
When they remained silent, Sebastian ordered his bodyguards, "Keep hitting them. Don''t stop until they''re willing to talk."
The two men were subjected to another round of blows.
Finally, one of them begged for mercy, saying he would talk. Only then did
Sebastian signal for his men to stop.
Sebastian''s cold, angry voice boomed, "Speak!"
The man''s face was covered in
blood. He didn''t dare look at
Sebastian, but turned to Natalie and said, "It.. it was a woman. We usually contact her online. She doesn''t like it when some girls act all high and mighty, so she has us.... humiliate them. But we don''t know who she is. After were done we send her photos, and she leaves the money for us at a designated spot. We have no idea who she is."
Natalie confirmed, "You said it was a woman?"
The man nodded quickly. “Yes, a woman. But I''ve never seen her. We onlymunicate online."
Natalie was confused. "You''ve never seen her, so how do you know she''s a woman?"
"I''m a man. The way she talks... it sounds like a woman. If you don''t believe me,
you can check the messages on my phone."
The man handed his phone to Natalie with a trembling hand.
Natalie crouched down to read the messages.
