Joanna finally noticed the cold, grim expression on Sebastian''s face.
Panic filled her eyes. She knew he was angry-furious. With tears streaming down her face, she looked at him. "Sebastian, help me. Are you just going to let your money go down the drain?"
"All you have to do is make Nataliee forward and apologize. Have her say this was all a setup by her and Mrs. Wilson to nder me. That way, my name will be cleared, right? Sebastian, we grew up together. You can''t abandon me. Besides, you promised you would marry me!"
Sebastian''s smile was deep and unreadable. "Joanna, I said that on the condition that you were the one who saved me."
A flicker of guilt crossed Joanna''s eyes. She cried pitifully. "Sebastian, I pulled you out of that fire. I almost died myself. Of course it was me who saved you! If you don''t believe me, ask my dad. He knows exactly what happened."
Sebastian stared at her, saying nothing.
Natalie was right. He had been blind. He couldn''t believe he''d never seen through Joanna''s clumsy acting.
Just then, Joanna''s phone rang. When she saw who it was, her eyes lit up. Natalie had seen the photo.
She deliberately answered the call in front of Sebastian.
"Natalie, you''re calling me?" she said, intentionally using Natalie''s name.
Natalie started yelling immediately. “Joanna, are you that desperate for attention? Do you think you''re hot stuff? If Sebastian is taking care of you, fine! I already gave him back to you, so get him out of my sight."
“What''s the point of sending me those pictures and messages? If you''ve got the guts, marry him! If you''ve got the guts, get pregnant with his kid! If you''ve got the guts, get a marriage certificate and thene show it off to me. I might even respect you a little.”
"Stop sending me this garbage. It''s so disgusting I can''t even eat.”
"You''re disgusting enough as it is, so piss off! And don''t you dare try your little act on me. I''m not Sebastian."
"Also, you''ve sent me more than enough evidence. I don''t need any more. All this proof you''ve given me is enough to get me half of Sebastian''s assets in a divorce. So, thanks for that!"
Joanna was speechless.
She felt her face burn with shame.
After her verbal assault, Natalie hung up immediately.
Then, she took a screenshot of the photo and conversation and sent it straight to Sebastian.
[Tell your first love to stop sending me this disgusting stuff. I guess it was your ghost keeping herpanyst night.]
When Sebastian received the message, he realized Joanna had sent hers right beforeing in.
Joanna saw it too. How could Natalie do that?
She whipped her head around to look at Sebastian.
Sebastian frowned, showing Joanna the message. "Is this the kind of stuff you usually send Natalie to harass her?"
"I..." Joanna''s face turned bright red She wanted to tear Natalie to pieces. “Sebastian, I was trying to help you!! wanted her to leave you for goud!”
"And then what?" Sebastian asked, his face unreadable.
Joanna sobbed heartbrokenly. He should know the answer to that better than anyone.
“Sebastian, you promised you''d marry me! Why are you going back on your word?"
"Then why did you run away? If you hadn''t, I would have married you. You gave up your chance, so don''t regret it now."
"You know exactly why I''ve been
good to you. But the fact that you deliberately tried to destroy my
you
The a side ofy
margage shows me
I''ve never seen before."
Sebastian stood up and walked to
the window, looking out at the snow. His voice was cold and detached. "Joanna, you''re on your own."
Joanna shot to her feet, staring at his unforgiving back with pure hatred in her eyes.
