Joanna looked at the dangerously unpredictable man before her. She had never seen him like this.
The Sebastian in front of her was deep, ruthless, and cold-nothing like the charming and talkative Robert. With Robert, she felt rxed.
His skills in bed were also impressive. Being with him was a release for her. Afterwards, she would be sore all over, but she had found a real sense offort.
She was carrying too much stress. With him still gone, there was no one to share her burdens with.
But being with Sebastian was just suffocating. She had to constantly be on guard, carefully navigating his moods. It was exhausting.
Joanna didn''t understand. “Sebastian,” she asked, puzzled, "if you know everything, why are you still ying along and pretending for Natalie''s sake?"
She truly couldn''t figure Sebastian out.
He was too difficult to control.
Sebastian''s voice was t, his eyes so deep they were unreadable. "Have you forgotten? You saved my life. I''ve always seen you as a sister. Your business is my business. You asked me to invest, so I did. But you can''t let my investment go to waste."
Joanna found thisughable. In her narcissistic view, she assumed Sebastian still couldn''t let her go and was just making excuses to help her.
At that thought, a smile bloomed on her face. “Sebastian, Robert and I didn''t do anything. We were just discussing the script. Since when did you start believing such silly rumors?"
Despite her words, Joanna felt that Sebastian had be a stranger.
He was no longer the Sebastian she knew. He was harder to control now.
Because he was starting to believe Natalie instead of her.
“Sebastian, we''re obviously not going to get a table at this ce, but I really want to try their food. Besides, with Natalie and Marshall alone together... are you really okay with that?"
Joanna was still determined to steal Natalie''s table. Anything that made Natalie miserable was a win for her.
Sebastian said nothing and simply led her inside.
Natalie and Marshall had already
ordered their food. Without the interruption from Sebastian and Joanna, Natalie''s mood had started
prove.
But just as she was about to discuss international baby products with Marshall, they walked in.
Sebastian sat down right next to her.
And Joanna sat down next to Marshall.
Both Natalie and Marshall were stunned. These two were utterly shameless.
Natalie red at Sebastian. "What do you think you''re doing?"
"There are no other tables," Sebastian said calmly. "We''ll eat together."
Natalie was speechless. "Aren''t you supposed to be all-powerful? You used to book entire restaurants just so Joanna could eat in peace, What happened today? You''re going to let your lover suffer the indignity of sharing a table with us?"
Her tone was dripping with sarcasm.
Joanna, however, felt a deep sense of humiliation. Sebastian''s past devotion had
made her feel like the luckiest woman in the world.
But the Sebastian of today no longer doted on her.
Just as she was thinking this, she heard Sebastian say, "Natalie, if you want to eat in peace, I can clear this ce out for you. I''ll book the entire restaurant so you can have your dinner in quiet."
His voice was soft, but his eyes were unreadable.
Natalie was taken aback by his words. Sebastian would do that for her?
Joanna''s eyes filled with jealousy. Was Sebastian, now that he saw the truth, going
to give Natalie all the special treatment he once gave her?
Suddenly feeling the heat of Joanna''s envious re, Natalie looked over and saw that her face was contorted with anger.
