Natalie had no idea how torturous the night had been for Joanna, but she herself had slept wonderfully.
When she woke up, she saw the bright sunshine outside, stretchedzily, andy back down.
She absolutely loved life on the ind. The clear blue sea was so therapeutic.
But there was one downside to being by the ocean: the humidity.
A short stay here was fantastic. The sky was exceptionally blue, as was the sea. The breeze was crisp, and every view was captivating.
Natalie got out of bed, washed up, and nned to simply boil the seafood she''d caught yesterday and have Susan over for breakfast.
After messaging Susan, she went to the kitchen. It was a simple setup, but it had an induction cooktop and a microwave, which was enough to cook seafood.
Natalie carried the coconut snails outside. She needed to crack the shells to get the meat out for cooking.
At her door, she saw Sebastian from across the hall, also about to leave. Perhaps because they were on an ind, he was dressed in a sleek, light-gray sweatsuit that made him look fresh and handsome, less brooding than usual.
Natalie gave him only a passing nce before heading toward the elevator.
Sebastian looked at the basin of seafood she was carrying the catch from her dive yesterday.
He followed her and asked, "Natalie, when are you going back?"
Natalie said tly, "Mr. Griffith, when I go back is none of your business. I have nothing to do with you now. I came here for some peace and quiet, so why do I keep running into you and Joanna everywhere? What bad luck."
"Natalie, you..." Sebastian red at her. She was so rebellious now, she really knew how to push his buttons.
Sebastian followed her into the elevator, suppressing his anger. "Natalie, I''m not going to marry Joanna. Come back with me."
Natalie shot him a re, wishing he would just get lost.
"Other than to discuss the divorce, I don''t want to say another word to you, Mr. Griffith. Have some integrity and stand by your words. The day you threw the divorce papers at me, you were the one who told me to nevere back."
Sebastian frowned. She was throwing his own words back in his face.
He looked at her intently. "I said that in anger. How long are you going to keep this
up? I told you I''m not marrying Joanna."
"Who you marry has nothing to do with me. But whoever does marry
you is pretty unlucky. Igno
wife at home while giving your mistress a five-million-dor
allowance... I wonder who the next foot will be."
A deep amusement filled Sebastian''s eyes. "Natalie, are you saying I haven''t spent
a dime on you? Fine. Starting this month, I can give you five million."
"Don''t! I never spent your money before, and I won''t start now. Save it for your precious Joanna.
I can earn my own money. I didn''t even ask you for the hundred million in medical fees back then. I don''t need your money. You wanted no financial ties with me so you could make room for Joanna. Welb''ve made room, and now you two won leave me alone. Why are people like you so awful?"
"You kick me out when you want, and summon me back when you feel like it? Sebastian, in this world, there is no one you absolutely must love, and nothing you absolutely must do."
"And I feel pathetic for ever having loved someone like you."
So early in the morning, and Natalie was already pale with anger.
Forget it. She wasn''t going diving today. She was too angry.
Right, she shouldn''t be angry. It was bad for her health.
Hearing this, a terrifying chill shot from Sebastian''s eyes. He spoke through gritted teeth, "Natalie, I dare you to say that again."
Just as the elevator reached the ground floor, Natalie stuck her tongue out at him. "You took my first kiss and you still dare to act so arrogant? Get lost, or I''ll smash your head in with this snail shell."
