Chapter 62

Oh, Sebastian, Sebastian. One of these days, you''re going to be the poster child for toxic exes. They might even give you an award.

Sebastian''s cold gazended on Sean. "Sean, just drive the car. Why are you talking so much?" he barked, his voiceced with irritation.

    Sean immediately fell silent.

Sebastian''s thoughts returned to Natalie, to the image of her sobbing

uncontrobly on the stairs, and to what she had said.

She''d spent a hundred million on herbs for him.

His heart grew heavy. He''d been blind at the time.

But why would Natalie lie to him about it?

Sebastian picked up his phone and called his grandmother.

    "Hello? Grandma, it''s me."

"Well, well! Look who it is. I thought it might be some heartless rogue. What do you want with this old woman?"

Sebastian was speechless. His grandmother was clearly still upset about his divorce from Natalie. She had always adored her.

"Grandma, I wanted to ask you... was it really you who found the doctor to treat my eyes back then?"

Mrs. Spencer Sr. knew instantly that he was starting to suspect the truth. Natalie had never wanted him to know.

But the truth was, Natalie had been the one to save him.

"No, it wasn''t. I''m an old woman. When the Griffith family was on the brink of bankruptcy, I was too busy trying to salvage thepany to pay you any mind. It was Natalie. She was the one who saved you."

"She knew you had feelings for Joanna and was afraid you''d feel burdened by the truth, so she made me promise not to tell you."

"Now that you''ve kicked her out for that other woman, you might as well pretend you don''t know. And don''t you dare go looking for her. Don''t dirty her sight with your presence."

"I imagine that whenever Natalie sees you now, all she can think about is how you tortured her for Joanna, and even the air around you must feel contaminated."

    Sebastian was silent.

    His grandmother hung up.

His hand tightened around the phone.

"Sean, pull over. Find out where Natalie is right now. I need to see her."

Sean said pointedly, "Sir, why don''t you just call your wife and ask?"

Sebastian flinched. Natalie had blocked him.

"You call her," hemanded, his eyes shing coldly.

Feeling the pressure, Sean flicked on the turn signal, pulled the car over, and dialed Natalie''s number. He tried

twice, but no one answered. He was in a tough spot; Natalie wasn''t even picking up his calls anymore.

Sean turned to face Sebastian''s icy expression, but before he could speak, his boss roared, "Track her phone!"

Sean quickly pulled out his phone

again and initiated a trace on

    Natalie''s number. A momentter a

    Should we follow?" he asked

    excitedly.

Sebastian gave a curt nod. "Follow them."

Queena drove Natalie directly to a hot spring resort in the countryside.

As the car pulled into the parking lot, Natalie looked at the surrounding mountains,

    and her mood instantly lifted.

After they got out, Queena pulled their suitcases from the trunk.

"Come on, Natalie, let''s go. I already made reservations."

“Okay!" Natalie looked around at the resort.

It was nestled in a valley, beautifully developed to enhance the natural scenery. On the mountainside, she could see standalone vis. A gentle breez@rustled through the trees and flowers, and she could hear the cheerful chirping of birds. It felt like a ce where all troubles could be forgotten, leaving only the peace and harmony of nature.

"Ahh... Queena, I absolutely love it here! Let''s go inside, quickly!" Natalie eximed, running ahead happily.
