If she hadn''t spent time in the Rosenberg household and understood the weight the elders carried, she never would have questioned it.
Hannah''s question gave them pause.
Samuel and Cherry exchanged a look, and the pieces started to click into ce. Something was definitely off.
It wasn''t just the Rosenberg family. Even in their own home, when the three of them were chatting in the living room, the staff would instinctively withdraw.
And even if they overheard something by ident, they would never repeat it. They had all signed non-disclosure agreements before starting their jobs.
So, the story they heard was eitherpletely true, or someone had intentionally leaked it to them.
"Samuel, do you remember if they mentioned anyone else being there? I feel like besides the elders and Lionel, there was someone else."
The story had been so juicy that Cherry had been focused entirely on the details, not on who was present.
Samuel thought for a moment. "I think they said Mrs. Rosenberg Sr. and Quennel were there, but I can''t be sure."
He wasn''t certain, so he didn''t want to state it as a fact and risk misjudging them.
"It was a matter concerning Lionel, and it took ce at Grandmother''s estate. Quennel and his mother would have certainly been there. Quennel is at odds with Lionel; he would never miss an opportunity to see him publicly humiliated." Hannah analyzed the situation carefully and concluded that, besides Lionel and the elders, Quennel and Mrs. Mary Rosenberg must have been present.
If her reasoning was correct, then it was almost certain that the story Cherry and Samuel heard was intentionally leaked by the servants on Quennel''s orders.
His goal was to let them know that Lionel had fought with the family elders. He had also purposefully revealed that the meeting was to decide Lionel''s fate.
Although she and Samuel had
previously suspected there was something off about her brother, his actions had never harmed her directly, so she had always turned a blind eye.
But now, it seemed her brother wasn''t even trying to hide his intentions anymore.
Hannah lowered her gaze, deep in thought.
She knew that once Lionel was cast out of the Rosenberg family, all the enemies he had made in the business world would seize the opportunity to strike.
Her brother wouldn''t even need to lift a finger; others would do the work for him. If Lionel''s luck was bad, he could very well end up dead at their hands.
But the fact that the elders had called a special meeting suggested they were still undecided about kicking Lionel out.
e,
If they had truly wanted him gone, they wouldn''t have bothered with a meeting at all. So perhaps the meeting wasn''t about his expulsion, but had another purpose entirely.
What that purpose was, Hannah couldn''t guess.
But one thing was now clear: the reason her brother had leaked this information to fer was obvious te wanted her to intervene and hasten Lionel''s removal from the family.
