The moment he saw the contents, his brow instantly furrowed.
He was absolutely certain of one thing: when he first saw this letter, it had Quennel''s name on it, not his.
But for some reason, it now bore his own name.
What was going on? How could this be?
The handwriting was identical to what he remembered, with no discernible
differences. Could it be that he had misread it the first time?
But the difference between Quennel''s name and his own was huge. Even if he made a mistake, it couldn''t be that drastic.
Could Cherry or Hannah have altered these few words?
Lionel ran his fingers over the name, checking to see if there was anything unusual about the paper or ink.
But no matter how many times he touched it, the characters felt just like the others. There were no signs of modification.
Could he really have misread it? But he wasn''t an idiot. How could he make such a mistake?
"Lionel, do you see it clearly now? It''s your name. I told you, I''m not an idiot. I wouldn''t have gotten it wrong."
Seeing Lionel''s suspicious expression, Cherry quickly interjected.
"You were the one who kept insisting it was my mistake. Now that you''ve seen it yourself, whose name is it? Yours or your brother''s? If you can''t read it, do you need me to pull out my phone and trante it for you?"
Cherry watched his face, a mask of disbelief. If she didn''t have a bit of self-control, she would have burst outughing.
She had to hand it to Hannah;ing up with the idea to hire a forger was brilliant.
Itpletely validated the lie she had told him earlier!
"Are you sure this is the one? Not another one?"
Lionel still couldn''t bring himself to believe it. He was convinced something was wrong with the letter.
"So, at the end of the day, you''re still doubting me. You think I brought you a fake, is that it? I just don''t get it."
"Why are you so suspicious of me?
Is it because you got beaten up and Quennel retaliated against your men, making them think it was your fault for snitching? So now, to destroy you he deliberately wrote this letter. to frame you?"
Cherry threw up her hands, feigning total confusion as she looked at him.
"Why do you keep insisting it was Quennel''s name on it? Don''t tell me this letter was
originally given to you, and you took it to Hannah to stir up some trouble?"
Cherry stared at him, and after a few seconds of silence, her expression turned suspicious. "But if it had your name on it, you would have destroyed it, not given it to Hannah."
She paused, as if a sudden realization had dawned on her, and her eyes widened.
"Or maybe... in the heat of the moment, you misread it, thought it said Quennel''s name, and saw an opportunity to sow discord, so you immediately sent it to Hannah?"
Sitting on the sofa, Cherry looked at him in mock shock, clicking her tongue.
After a long silence from him, Cherry continued, "You must have misread the name. You thought it was Quennel''s so you excitedly sent the letter to Hannah to cause trouble between them."
