There was no way the Temples would just sit back and watch Hannah walk into such a dangerous situation alone.
After thinking it over, Lionel decided he was probably just being overly anxious. She was a Temple, after all. No matter what, her family would never abandon her. Lionel repeated this to himself, trying to calm his nerves.
The next day, at the appointed time, Hannah and Samuel put their n into action.
On the surface, it looked like she was going alone, but in reality, she had a team of people following her discreetly.
Hannah arrived at the abandoned building. It waspletely silent inside.
"Hello? Is anyone here? I''m here, just like you asked. Now where are you? Come on out!"
Hannah shouted into the vast, empty space, but no matter how loud she called, there was no reply.
Since the building was abandoned, there were no lights. The only illumination came from the moonlight streaming through the broken windows.
Using the moonlight to guide her, she scanned her surroundings, careful not to venture too deep into the building in case she needed to make a quick escape.
She walked around for a bit, but still saw no one.
Just as Hannah was about to leave, she heard a voice behind her. Her brow furrowed, and she spun around, on high alert.
"Quennel?"
In the pale moonlight, Hannah could make out the man standing before her.
It was Quennel.
"Hannah!" Quennel walked towards her.
"What are you doing here?" Hannah asked, confused.
"I went to see Lionel yesterday, and he told me what was going on. I knew these people wouldn''t leave you alone unless they were dealt with, save Been working on ursince yesterday."
Quennel reached her, a slight smile on his lips. "It''s a good thing I took care of them
in time. Otherwise, they would have lured you here again today."
"You took care of them?" Hannah was stunned for a moment, then a thought struck her. "Did you find out if they really had any information about my mother?" she asked eagerly.
Hannah looked at Quennel with nervous anticipation.
After all, they had guessed that Quennel wouldn''t be as foolish as Lionel.
"I asked them. I even used some... special methods to make sure they weren''t lying. But unfortunately, they were just trying to trick you. They don''t have any information about your mother."
Upon hearing this, Hannah''s hopeful expression immediately fell.
Her brow furrowed, and she fell silent for a long moment before letting out a deep sigh.
"I really thought they might have some information about my mother."
Ever since she found out her mother was Cheryl and that she was missing, Hannah had been determined to find her.
But the Temples had spent years and vast resources searching for her with no luck. She knew it wouldn''t be easy for her to seed on her own.
Still, she was determined to do whatever it took.
Just when she thought she had a glimmer of hope, it was extinguished.
"It''s okay. I''ll help you look, too. If I find anything, I''ll let you know right away."
Quennel nced around at the dpidated surroundings. "It''s too dangerous here. Let''s go back."
Hannah didn''t speak, just pressed her lips together and nodded, following Quennel out.
Seeing Hannah emerge, Samuel and Cherry rushed over.
"Hannah, what happened? Did you find anyone?" Samuel asked anxiously.
Hannah exined what had happened.
Cherry''s eyes suddenly lit up. "Hannah, something''se up. I have to go! Wait for my good news!"
