Chapter 613

But it wasn''t a hallucination. The man had actually said those insane words.

"Hey, hey, hey. First of all, we don''t know where you got your information, but by the time Hannah got there, the men were gone. You made her go on a wild goose chase."

Samuel pointed at him, scolding, "What if those people really did have the information we wanted, and you just ruined our only chance? And now you expect us to thank you? How can you be so shameless? I''ve never met anyone as shameless as you!"

"It''s not me who doesn''t get it, it''s you," Lionel retorted. "They were lying. They had no intention of giving you any information."

Seeing Samuel''s disbelief, Lionel sat up in agitation, gritting his teeth against the pain that shot through his body.

"Are you even listening to me? I told you, those men are liars! They weren''t going to tell you about your mother; they just wanted to mess with Hannah! I was the one who stopped it. If I hadn''t, Hannah would be the one lying in this hospital bed right now, do you understand?"

Hannah and Samuel watched his hysterical outburst, on the verge of bursting intoughter.

It was hrious how a few simple words had pushed him over the edge.

The real question was, how did he have the audacity to have a meltdown? He was the reason their n had gone awry. No one knew if Hannah might have actually gotten some useful information if she had been the one to go.

If he hadn''t acted so foolishly and had managed to coax out even a scrap of information, Hannah wouldn''t be this angry.

Then again, maybe she would. Regardless, their purpose ining here was to mock Lionel.

Just as Hannah was about to speak, Cherry walked in.

She hurried in, about to say something, but froze when she saw Hannah and Samuel sitting there. She quickly swallowed her words.

At that moment, all four of them stood in silence, trapped in an awkward moment.

Hannah broke the silence. "What are you doing here? Do you know him?”

"Isn''t this room-606?" Cherry blinked innocently, then turned to check the room number and pped her forehead. "Oh shoot its not, wa visiting a friend. Imust have gotten the wrong room. Well, you guys carry on."

    ?

Cherry delivered her lines with perfectposure and turned to leave.

"Your friend is in 606? Let me walk

you there, so you don''t get lost

    again,

    Hannah said, standing up

    which momentarily startled Cherry.

Thank God she and Hannah had nned this beforehand, otherwise Hannah''s

quick thinking would have genuinely scared her!

How could someone improvise so fast? And here she thought she was quick on her feet!

But luckily, she and Hannah were partners, not enemies.

“Hahaha, I''m just kidding! I just heard Lionel got beaten up and was in the hospital, so I came to see for myself."

Cherry stopped and turned back to them. "I thought it was just a rumor, but it''s actually true. And it looks like it was a pretty bad beating. What did you do to get yourself into this

    mess?"

Cherry walked back in with a smile and sat on the sofa.

"What''s it to you? Get out. Stop sticking your nose in my business, you hear me? I don''t know you."

Lionel''s brow furrowed, and he growled through clenched teeth, trying to drive her away.
