When Lionel found out he might be sent abroad for a project, he was furious. He drove to the Rosenberg family estatete that night.
Mary knew he wouldn''t be happy with the n and would likelye to protest, but she hadn''t expected him to show up in the middle of the night.
"I know what Hannah has been posting online has affected our family, but what good will sending me abroad do?"
Lionel tried his best to remain calm as he spoke.
"What else can we do? Sandra''s gone. Before, we could have med everything on her, but now Hannah is only targeting you. Unless you can drag Sandra back and make her apologize to Hannah!"
Mary never imagined that after she had been so good to Sandra, Sandra would run off and leave them with such a huge mess.
Hindsight is 20/20. She had been too quick to trust her. If she hadn''t, none of this would be happening. But it was toote for regrets.
Lionel sighed deeply. "Even if we dragged her back to apologize to Hannah, what good would it do?"
Mary flew into a rage. “You know it''s useless, too! Hannah just wants a divorce! The only solution is for you to sign the papers and cut ties with her, understand?"
She stared at Lionel, furious, her chest heaving and her eyes bloodshot.
“Like you said, bringing Sandra back won''t work, and sending you away won''t work either. Since you know none of it will help, why won''t you just sign the damn papers!"
Faced with his mother''s furious questioning, Lionel gave the same answer. "I''m not divorcing Hannah."
"Lionel, just do this one thing for the family. Besides, you started all this. You''re the one who let the
Rosenbergs down. Just sign the
papers give them to Hannah, and let her rest so she''ll stop destroying the Rosenberg family!"
Mary was so angry she was speechless, the veins in her temples throbbing.
"Lionel, what''s the use of dragging your feet and pretending to be devoted? If you had been half thismitted before, Hannah wouldn''t be doing this. You dont love her. You''re just stalling because you think a divorce looks bad. It''s the 21st century; people can part amicably. If you really love her, sign the papers now, and then win her back. Get her to reconcile with you on her own terms!"
But Lionel didn''t hear a word of Mary''s heartfelt plea. The living room fell silent.
"Fine! Do whatever you want! Don''t even bother going to the factory. Just stay home and fight with Hannah until one of you drops dead!”
Seeing Lionel''s stubbornness, Mary stood up and shouted.
en call yourself a man?
"Do you even
You were so quick, so decisive when
you signed those divorce papers to please your mistress. And now your regret You Say you love her you
don''t love her! You just haven''t found a new mistress yet!"
After her outburst, Mary turned to leave.
Lionel immediately stood up to exin.
"I know I was wrong back then. I''ve reflected on it, and I''ve exined it to Hannah.
She''s already moved past it, so why do you keep bringing it up?"
