Chapter 429

He had watched everything on the security cameras and was surprised that Hannah didn''t hold it against Cherry.

If he''d known how it would turn out, he would have stayed instead of running off. But he missed the show.

But since it was all resolved, he figured he''d just apologize to his sisterter. She was his sister, after all. She couldn''t stay mad at him forever and disown him, right?

Back home, Mary grew angrier the more she thought about it. She deeply regretted going to see Hannah.

That madwoman was beyond reason, and she had foolishly hoped to negotiate with her.

She instinctively picked up her phone to call Lionel and tell him to go discuss the divorce with Hannah, but just as she was about to dial, she remembered what he had said before.

Lionel was dead set against divorcing Hannah, full of excuses. Calling him would be pointless. After some thought, she decided to call her older son instead. After all, Hannah had a better rtionship with him.

“Quennel, see when you have time to meet with Hannah. Ask her what it will take to stop this farce if she won''t agree to a divorce. Money? What does she want?"

"We can''t let her keep this up. If this goes on, our family will never have peace. Your father even heard about it overseas and called to chew me out. I''m at my wit''s end." "She listens to you more. Call her, have a good talk. Money, cars, houses—we''ll give her anything. I''m even willing to give her shares in thepany!"

Hearing the hysteria in his mother''s voice, the desperation of someone pushed to the brink, Quennel sighed inwardly.

    "Mom, you know things have

reached a point of no return. Even if I step in it won''t make a difference. The most important thing right now is to get Lionel to sign the divorce papers."

If money were what Hannah wanted, things never would have escted this far.

"I''ve tried. It''s useless. All Hannah

wants is a divorce. She has her own

    money, cars, and property. She

doesn''t even care about the divorce settlement. She just wants out Offering her more won''t change anything."

Hearing this, Mary sighed heavily in frustration.

"So what do we do now? One refuses to divorce, and the other is airing our dirty

    Quennel replied, "There''s nothing,

else we can do. It''s up to Lionel. You should go talk to him again. If

    nothing else works, send him

    abroad. Keep him away from

    Hannah. Maybe she''ll ept that."

If they were far apart, not being legally divorced would feel like one. Perhaps Hannah would ept that.

But he wasn''t sure if she would ept it. It was just an idea worth trying.

Mary was silent for a moment. "Maybe that''s a solution. I''ll try it. We can''t let her keep this up."
