Chapter 402

"Instead of sitting here overthinking things, you should go make a public response before this gets any worse."

Quennel scoffed at the sight of him sitting there, paralyzed.

"This right here. This is why Hannah can''t stand you. Besides ndering her and mistrusting her, you''repletely useless."

Lionel''s brow twitched at the insult.

"This is between me and Hannah. It has nothing to do with you, so you can stop telling me what to do!"

As Hannah was getting ready to leave work, a colleague warned her that a massive crowd of reporters was waiting outside.

"With that many reporters, should we really go out the front? Maybe we should use the back door? I can bring the car around, and you can wait for me in the parking garage," Samuel suggested.

Hannah shook her head. "No, I''m taking the front door. And I''m going to talk to them."

Everyone stared. Alright then. Hannah was in full-on battle mode. The scumbag had better prepare himself.

Worried that the reporters would swarm and hurt her, Samuel called the building''s management and arranged for security guards to protect Hannah.

Even though Yves Lancaster was on a business trip abroad, he was still keeping a close eye on events back home.

Despite the preparations, when they got downstairs, they saw the reporters had already formed a human wall, threeyers deep, pletely blocking the entrance. Other employees were being forced to leave through the back.

The moment the reporters saw Hannah emerge, they surged forward like a tidal

    wave.

If Samuel hadn''t arranged for security to form a protective barrier, the microphones would have been shoved down her throat.

The guards pushed the reporters back, creating a small clearing, and Hannah stepped forward to face them.

"Everyone please calm down. I know

you all want to know the full story. Please, be patient. I will give you thirty minutes to answer your questions."

Hannah stood before them, a calm smile on her face.

She had anticipated this scene, but the reality of it was even more spectacr than she had imagined.

"Ms. Green, is the marriage certificate you posted real? It''s not a fake, is it?"

"Why did you two have a secret marriage? Mr. Rosenberg publicly stated he was unmarried. What are your thoughts on that?"

"Ms. Green, by doing this, aren''t you afraid of retaliation from Mr. Rosenberg and the Rosenberg family?"

"Ms. Green, does this mean you''re done ying nice? Is this going to be a scorched-earth battle?"

The reporters all shouted their questions at once, each one afraid of not being heard.

Hannah raised a hand, signaling for quiet.

"I''ve heard all your questions. Now, I will answer them one by one. Please, be patient."

"First, as awyer, I''m well aware that forging a marriage certificate is illegal. The document is real. Lionel Rosenberg andte husband and wife. We were married three years ago."

Once she let go of her feelings, it seemed like none of it mattered anymore.

Even her marriage, which she had once cherished above all else, now felt insignificant.

"Three years ago, when we got married, Mr. Rosenberg and his family felt that my status as an orphan was beneath them. They were afraid I would tarnish their image, so they insisted on a secret marriage, hidden from the public eye."
