Chapter 353

By now, she was certain that Lionel hadpletely sided with Hannah. There was no point in wasting any more words or pretending.

"You seem to have forgotten that she and I are married. The money I used to buy you those things is part of our marital assets. Whether we divorce or not, Hannah has the right to demand them back."

Lionel''s voice was devoid of emotion, his expression a mask of indifference.

His wordspletely shut down any argument Sandra was about to make.

"...They were just gifts to a friend, that''s... that''s all. You and I don''t have that kind of rtionship, we''re just friends. Hasn''t she ever given her friends luxury goods? Or jewelry?"

Lionel shook his head. The only money Hannah had given away was from selling jewelry to help Tess, and Tess had signed a promissory note, ready to pay it back at any time.

Besides, who would believe that such extravagant gifts were exchanged between friends, especially a man and a woman?

"I will repay you, with interest, for the financial support you once gave me. But for now, I''m taking back everything I gave you to return to Hannah."

"No... you can''t! Those things are mine! You gave them to me! Lionel, you can''t do this!"

Lionel knew there was no point in talking to Sandra anymore. She wouldn''t listen. He turned and left, telling her he would send someone to her house in three days to collect the items.

He ignored the heart-wrenching screams and sobs behind him.

Back in his car, he instinctively picked up his phone to tell Hannah he had confirmed he would get the items back.

But when he opened the screen, he remembered she had blocked him.

So, he sent a message to Samuel instead.

Just after sending it, he saw a message from Sandra.

He hadn''t nned on reading it, but he identally tapped on it.

When he saw the content, Lionel''s eyes flew open. In disbelief, he

    dropped his phone, Stad

on the elerator and sped toward the old family mansion.

Samuel received the message and showed it to Hannah.

"I thought that spineless man would drag his feet for ages. I didn''t expect him to

    act so quickly."

    Hannah nced down at the

    message and snorted. "He''s

    probably terrified I''ll actually sue

him. He can''t handle a crowd of

reporters swarming him at the courthouse asking if he cheated, during his marriage, asking why he denied being married at that press conference. The stock market would plummet, and he''d be at risk of losing his CEO position!"

    "When faced with his own

    self-interest, what''s a mistress? I

just never thought... he supposedly so much but now he''s

    loves Sandb

actually going to her to take back

everything he ever gave her. It''s like

breaking up and then presenting an

    itemized bill. It''s just disgusting."

    Samuel listened and nodded silently.

"If Sandra still loves Lionel after all this, then she must be truly, hopelessly in love

    with him."

    Hannah couldn''t agree more.

Lionel sped to the family estate and burst through the doors.

"Where is Quennel!" he demanded, grabbing a servant.

"The young master is in the study upstairs."

Lionel stormed up to the second-floor study and threw the door open. Quennel, who had just finished an online meeting, nced at the intruder. "Since when did the Rosenberg family have someone so rude?" he said.

"Quennel, I''m asking you, were you the one who drugged me before the wedding?"
