But Juniper''s horse had executed such a dramatic leap that it had spooked Ynda''s mount even further. Now, her frantic tugging had no effect; the horse showed no sign of stopping.


    "Ahhh! Stop! Stop!" Ynda screamed in terror, pulling at the reins. "Help me! Somebody, help!" The obstacle fence was right in front of them. If the horse tried to jump it, she would surely be thrown off.


    The other guests were frozen in shock, and the trainers were too far away to intervene in time.


    "Aaaah!"


    A final, blood-curdling scream mingled with the horse''s panicked whinny. Ynda was jolted upwards, herck of skill making it impossible to hold on. Her body lost its bnce, tilted backward, and she tumbled to the ground with a thud.


    She rolled over and over until she hit a barrier and finally stopped. Her entire body ached as if her bones were shattered, and her head throbbed with a dull pain. She struggled to open her eyes, her nostrils filled with a foul stench. As her vision cleared, she saw she was surrounded by dark, lumpy piles.


    It hit her in an instant. This was the area where the horses relieved themselves. The ground was covered in manure. And she was lying right in the middle of it. There were even stters on her face and, horrifyingly, on her lips.


    "AHHHHHHH!" Utterly broken, Ynda shrieked uncontrobly as she tried to scramble to her feet.


    "Ms. Sherwin, are you alright?" a staff member asked cautiously, pinching his nose as he approached. She must be okay, he figured. Otherwise, she wouldn''t be able to scream that loudly.


    The other guests, out of politeness, started to rush over to check on her. But when they saw the scene, they exchanged nces, simultaneously halting in their tracks. They opted instead to watch from a safe distance, offering only verbal concern.


    Meanwhile, the onlinements exploded.
