"Filming starts at seven a.m. sharp tomorrow. The cameras will be on you the moment you wake up, so Jimmie, make sure you and Juniper have your makeup done beforehand," a staff member reminded them with a smile. Though, she thought, Juniper was a natural beauty. She was already stunning without a speck of makeup; with a little enhancement, she''d be a heart-stopper.
"Got it," Jimmie nodded, then asked with a softugh, "Are there any snacks? My sister gets hungry at night."
Snacks? The staff member blinked. This was a variety show. She''d heard that celebrities usually started dieting three months in advance, terrified of looking bloated on camera.
But here was Juniper, asking for snacks—for ate-night craving, no less. The staffer looked at Juniper. That slim frame of hers... she really could stand to eat more. Besides, she wasn''t even neen yet, still growing.
"We don''t have any-" the staff member began to say, nning to add that she could go buy some.
Before she could finish, Jimmie''s assistant suddenly appeared at the door. "Jimmie, Mr. Schwartz had something sent over for you."
At the mention of his name, Juniper, who had been sprawled on the sofa, shot up.
Jimmie opened the bag and found it filled to the brim with snacks, all of Juniper''s favorites. *That old fox,* Jimmie thought with amusement, *he really knows how to get to this girl.*
"That won''t be necessary, then,” Jimmie said, handing the bag to Juniper before giving the staff member a slight smile. "Thank you for your help."
"Of course, Jimmie." The staffer was so mesmerized by his smile she nearly floated away. "Just let me know if you need anything else!"
"Thanks," Juniper added, a hint of a smirk on her lips. Her clear eyes narrowed, lending her a roguish charm.
*Oh, my God.* The staffer felt as if Cupid''s arrow had just pierced her heart. *Jimmie''s sister is so cool. I don''t know if she''s a heartbreaker for guys, but she''s definitely stealing the girls'' hearts.*
The lounge felt silent. Juniper idly flipped through the script and munched on some snacks. When it waste enough, shezily made her way to bed She tossed and turned flipping like a pancake, but sleep wouldn''te.
Just as she was about to give up in frustration, a video call came through. She answered it.
Shanley, fresh from a shower and dressed in pajamas, was sitting up in his bed, looking refreshed.
"I''ll leave the video call on. You go to sleep," he said softly. He knew she had an early start tomorrow and didn''t want to keep her up talking.
“Okay.” Juniper adjusted her phone''s angle and flopped back onto the bed, facing the camera. A short whileter, drowsiness finally took over, and she drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, in another part of the vi, Ynda had returned to her room and was immediately trying to get information on the surprise guests.
"I heard it''s an A-lister," Yates said, strolling over to the counter with a soda. "Everyone who shows up calls themselves an A-lister orator star. How many of those can there really be in the industry?" He scoffed, a cynical smile on his face. "Besides Jimmie, I don''t recognize anyone else as top-tier."
"It can''t be him," Ynda interjected hastily, her toneced with sarcasm. “If Jimmie were on the show, what chance would we even have?"
Jimmie only had one sister. If he came, wouldn''t he bring Juniper? The thought was the stuff of nightmares.
"Oh, by the way," Yates said,
suddenly sitting up straighter,
"Jimmie''s sister is Juniper, right?
The girl who aced her college
entrance exams, the absolute
knockout. You know, I''d actually love"
to see her in person."
"She''d love to be here," Ynda sneered, her fingers tightening. "Too bad Director
Miranda can''t stand her. She can keep dreaming about it at home."
